Is Antares with 3 Shield Modules Even Good?

Yes it’s me AGAIN with ANOTHER Antares question LOL.

My question is about durability and survivability, is it better to go with 3 shield modules and 1 hull module, or vise versa?

I’ve seen several people run triple shield modules before, but I just don’t see how it can work well. I personally have a 2 shield 2 hull config right now until i refit the ship so I get that additional 9th module, and I’ve been doing tons and tons of experiments, using nearly every shield and hull combination out there for my setup, and from what I can tell, it’s far better to run triple hull modules instead of 3 shields because you’re repair drones can repair your hull WAY faster than you’re shield can regen + when special ability is in shield regen mode. Not to mention, that you slow way down, hindering your agility when in this mode…

Or, you can have an ultra high regen for shields, but resistances are zero, so they come down like a waterfall.

What are you’re thoughts? I’m going to be refiting my ship soon and want the best possible combination for PvE. Thanks!

I would always go for triple hull on fed dessies. You could potentially use the shields as a buffer, but never as your main tank.

Even jerry dessies tend to put some effort into making their hull tanky instead of going only full shield tank!

3 hulls it is!!! Ok thanks man.

3 hull slots is also versatile: look up the hull modules, there are interesting ones , like for speed or energy regen ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”)

Hull. For many reasons but also because the shields are enormous. It’s like the DD is the house in the snowglobe.

Its good to keep one shield slot for a compact generator, anything besides Jericho doesn’t have much of a point in using 2 or more.
