When i play t3, i notice that some pretty good players from [WPK] and [ESB] use ion emmiter on their Desert Eagles, can someone who know how this works, or someone who actually uses this weapon on D Eagle pls tell me, do u guys JUST go for frigates? Or do u go for other classes as well? Whenever someone is using that build i only see them attacking frigates, so im curious to know. I was on an [ESB] squads team for Com. Recon and i saw lasers everywhere zapping frigates to pieces. Also, can u guys show me a screen shot of the modules and ship modifiers u use on an ion emmiter D eagle? or maybe even gameplay? Id like to understand the strategy behind this so i wouldnt get killed by it so much when im a frigate.( Me on cerberus 30k health,[WPK] guy busy trying to kill someone.i try to take him by surprise, turns around uses overdrive kills me in 3 seconds *yes litterally* while i have full health and goes back to killing someone else)

Well do you have/fly a desert eagle? Gunships in general are best against frigates as you saw. Depending on weapon and target distance you can use gunships also against other targets.
Best defense as frigate is to kill the gunship before it gets to you. Don’t be alone as frigate somewhere always have someone close by who can get fighters/Inties off your back.Other than that prepare yourself for respawn screen.
Can be very deadly, you should consider asking PrM I know he has a Ion emmiter build for his DE. Here is the link to his uploaded video of it, I managed to find it.

Well, cant really answer for PrM but I can give you some advice. Add him to you follow list in the game and send him a private message. If you see him online in game then I highly suggest you come to our TeamSpeak channel and check if hes there. Its been a while since I played a fighter ship with an Ion emmiter so I dont think I could give any relevant information about it, sorry.
PRM uses two horizons and a flat reflector for his ion emmiter DE iirc. So you have around 5900 m range.
The main problem with the ion DE is that you need to be far away to kill stuff while out of his range. Slow frigates and fighters are the main targets, since interceptors can be hard to hit and you don’t use the power of the ion emmiter.
I’m using assault rails in DE. Not that much range, but better DPS and accuracy against smaller targets.
PrM and radyogh are scary with ion emitter
Its utterly deadly if the pilot can keep his aim steady on the target. If your aim isn’t steady, you dont gain from the resistance reduction. Go for a crit build with decent range
Frigates are primary target for everyone except gauss snipers though

DE is the deadliest t3 gunship in terms of damage (crits and dmg bonus). Wolfm wont be as effective with ion emitter as DE
