Yeah, that’s right. I ran into an invincible gunship.
I’m a T3 Federation guard frig with four heavy plasmas, firestorm missiles, and torpedoes. We’re playing combat recon, and I zero in on a lone gunship stupid enough to open fire on me.
I hit him with a full charge of heavy plasma, and his shield and part of his hull are gone. He goes evasive and runs back toward his friends.
His shields and hull start regenerating, but he’s still out in the open, so I charge up another full shot of plasma. It takes out a quarter of his shield. Puzzled, I give him another full charge. Same result, only this time he’s healing faster than I can kill him. By now he’s figured that out and has stopped trying to escape and is sitting out in the open firing at me.
I load up a firestorm volley and fire. All five missiles hit. His shield goes down. I fire another shot of plasma, but already his shield is regenerating faster than I can shoot off plasma rounds.
Then I died.
This should not be possible. The heaviest shield-stripping gun on the biggest ship class should not be rendered useless that easily.
Engineer frigates need their healing rates nerfed, and they need to scale according to ship size! It is stupid that smaller ships can be given healing factors akin to Wolverine from X-men!
The issue with Engineers isn’t their range! It’s their healing rates for other ships, particularly the smaller ones!
