Introducing 'Probably the worst SC ship builder'

Been wasting credits/artifacts upgrading a modifier to use and then regretted that it’s not what you wanted? Need to know if an upgrade is worth it? Want to build a ship with corresponding implant bonuses without having to spend 50,000 credits for each change? Don’t want to strip fitted ships just to figure out a build because you lack some modules?

Well here, I made this terrible spreadsheet to help you with those problems.

Report any issues here. You’re welcome to help everyone by providing me with ship data (see Q&A for details on how).

How to use

Log on to your Google account. Go to ‘File’ then click ‘Make a copy’. It will generate a fully editable copy in your Google Drive. I can’t publish the spreadsheet because it will remove dropdown menu. Follow the instruction on the spreadsheet.

Known issues

  • Some boosters’ (Thrusters, Military) value are higher than ingame value. This is because the correct amount of bonus is not being applied ingame. I am waiting for an answer from the devs.
  • Lower tier being able to select higher tier only modules. I don’t think I can implement this with Google spreadsheet though.
  • Lock time probably doesn’t work the same as ingame data. This is because there is minimum forced time which I am too lazy to check.
  • Some other stuff that I can’t test yet because I don’t have enough ship data.

Work in Progress

  • Adding ship data.

Q&A

Q: So what does this terrible looking spreadsheet do?

A: It lets you create your ideal ship builds without wasting credits or artifacts. Also lets you decide on upgrade after you’re satisfied with said builds.

Q: It looks so terrible. WHY?!

A: Because I wanted to make a working spreadsheet with the lowest amount of effort.

Q: How did you figure out the calculation?

A: Wasted precious credits :frowning:

Q: But I have 5 X Mk.4 per module for everything! I don’t need this crap!

A: Have you gone out lately?

Q: Why not make a program or website instead?

A: Because I couldn’t decompile SC game data LUA files (someone teach me how) and the devs don’t provide players with XML/CSV/API/whatever. Plus spreadsheet is faster to make. This spreadsheet is a provisional solution until someone makes proper shipbuilder or I get hands on ‘official’ datasheet that’s well formatted.

Q: I can’t see X ship.

A: Because I don’t own it I can’t see its full synergy stats. You can add the stats for both full and zero synergy here. Or provide me with ship stats screenshot with Ctrl pressed so it shows the stats change between zero and full synergy. There might be a problem adding zero synergy data with premium ships, but it looks like their zero synergy data is identical to their non-premium counterparts anyway. Either way add the data on linked spreadsheet, or provide me with screenshot. I’ll do the rest.

Q: Why is it missing active modules and guns/missiles?

A: Because you don’t need those when just looking at ship stat changes.

Q: I keep getting #N/A value.

A: You need to select both the item and its version. Some implants don’t have any bonus to ship stats so that is probably what’s causing it.

Aww no feedback at all? :frowning:

Nope. I think there is already a ship calculator. Sorry mate but you SOL.

most settled corps do have a better calculator on their own.

And I have to speak honestly an external link which requires a email-login is kind of suspicious for malware.

Not saying it is, but it may fear ppl (me as well)

talking about already existing calculators, do we from rage have one? Or can someone provide a link, if better ones already exist.

we do, motd will show by tomorrow

Oh well. I hope someone will find a use for it then. My 5 hours :frowning:

Oh so Interceptors have damage reduction against explosion? Totally didn’t know about that. Thanks for sharing, I’ll see what I can add

thanks for sharing Kostyan. :fed012:
