Interceptor Guide

The plasma guns have extra range, but the DPS just isn’t there compared to other guns.  The spread on everything for interceptors is just too high.  Right now I’m testing Jericho R2 implant, military target tracking, and two electronic guidance modules.  Now it feels reasonable, and it shouldn’t take all of that.  Did the devs expect me to just sit under a frigate and hope there’s no combat drones, pulsar, or mines?

No, they want you to get 50m in front of the enemy, then fire.

Now that the ‘ooh, shiny’ thing is over with, people seem to be realising this new system was not the best idea…

Not sure what you are talking about, elaborate?

Shield-Resistance Buff on the Spirit?!

Thats something new. Is it worth it? I must confess I never used it.

Wow, I pretty much have the exact same fits on my Recon & ECM. Only mine are a bit tankier.

I prefer Flares. Less cooldown, evades missiles.

I think it has to do with the default weapon spreads not being worth a damn.

As for the shield resist, have you looked at the damages of the new weapons?

Well look at it this way, Shield booster Vs Multiphase (MK3s)

a) CD: 38 vs 43 sec

b) 855 HP (i have 5854 total shield so its about 15% regen of total hp) vs 67 resists (my default resists are 42/-18/12) so average it as 25%-35% dmg reduction boost, on top of that i mostly use my Sai as offensive ship and my ECM when i fly in a squad where i want to protect my healer, so more resists under constant regen worth way more than just +total hp.

that’s my logic behind it

I see you are using it in conjunction with regenerative coating, so you can be completely self-sufficient, i probably would do the same for that goal.

P.S. oh and how do people fly with no Collision compensator (not the collisions itself but maneuverability boost) i use it with 30% rotation implant, if i don’t have either of them, i fell like a slow ice cream truck swarmed with kids on my interceptor.

coz before, inties try not to engage each other much - preferring to hit frigates and fighters instead. but inty vs inty - CC really changes things. A gunship with hi quality CCs can match inty turn speeds if iirc.

There are no debuffs in the game that affect turn speed

I didn’t even mentioned debuffs :stuck_out_tongue: ??

It was a response to this:

Basically, before this inties didn’t really attack other inties in normal public matches. There was never a need for turning speed bonus coz they routinely attack slower ships.

Things are different now and I see more interceptor vs interceptor fights lately. so collision compensators might show up more often I’m guessing. Especially when gunship pilots start appreciating the fact that they can match inty turn speeds using those …

Stick 4 on and you can actually nullify collision damage.

At my last check.

no one is talking about collision damage but agility boost

I apologize i am to use to CC meaning Crowd Control (debuffs and such) i did not read it as Collision Compensator :))

Just stating a fact…

Alright, give me some tactics, flight patterns, etc.

“As a side note… perhaps we can start making proper guides for each class.”

This guide will contain all three.

flight patterns

flight patterns? The best flight pattern is to have none, be unpredictable.  :Dwop

In what way?

Try recording your unpredictable habits. what do you do the most?

How do you move, etc.

No matter how unpredictable you are, there is always a pattern.

P.s. I’ve started updating the first page; Feel free to check it out, and add suggestions, as you will.

I am not giving away my flight patents  :learn:

btw you are going to need more then one post spots to complete the guide with good pictures - there is a limit per post, same for the videos

I don’t see any reason to Guide over t1 interceptor roles, you can combine them all in a single paragraph, there is next to nothing to say about them

T2 doesn’t have to much as well

Might even start a new thread and reserve 3-4 posts up front for your bible

Noted. I’ll probably make a part 2 if that becomes a hassle.

I could also have the admins delete this once it’s finished. I’d move all of it properly to the front that way.
