Increase Alien/Pirate spawns

Alien and pirate spawns are too small and we have to wait too long for next one!

 

It’s ridiculous that one LRF can clear entire R10 sector!

Then nerf the LRF cloaking device for PvE. Make it that enemies shoot at you anyway if you use it. Problem solved.

 

In my case I see myself trying to farm resources in a Cov Ops with dozens of pirates and biomorphs disturbing me because no one kills them.

I agree with Residente, I would almost say reduce the spawns of Aliens because in some sectors you have just finished killing one set of aliens when the next lot is already spawning! Also yes it seems stupid that LRF can hide from aliens when they can’t hide from bots in PVP.  However shorter cloaking times which allow escape such as recon and cov ops cloaks should still work IMO

No one kills them because the only class that can kill an entire group of aliens+hunter is LRF atm and you’re almost guaranteed to get ganked flying solo in one.   Nobody wants to spend 10-15 minutes flying out to a zone just to get killed in the first 3-4 minutes of arriving.

 

Also the Aliens seem to be the only enemies affected by scattering field like that.   Pirates will still shoot you regardless of cloak status

No they will not, they will fly in a straight like and ram you, but wont shoot you. I’ve played a lot with Mauler and Dragon and I can confirm it.

Yeah so far, I really think the Pirates and Aliens should ignore you by default but only see you as a threat 100% of the time when your in a squad of 3 or more. Does that sound fair? 

 

Besides, travel to map to map is a pain in the butt with all these aliens and pirates doing nothing and kill everyone. 

They’re pirates, why should they ignore you? They want to pirate your stuff, it’s what they do. Yarr!

Pirates should have means to see through your camo maybe, tactically.

 

What if those pirate stations they sometimes get would work like a sensor for them, and have good thermal resi.

 

Also, npc ships, especially in unsecure sectors, could simply spot you if they are in line of sight and close up, to mimic a good player.

 

The AI might also see a camoed sniper as a higher threat.

 

But I think a solution where the camo isn’t working *at*all* would be bad.

 

To the topic of spawns however, i feel like biomorphs are usually more common than pirate ships sometimes, simply because they eradicate pirates so easily.

Pretty much this, it’s great for LFR users that it’s so easy, but for any other ship alien and pirate spawns happening so often is a problem. The solution shouldn’t be make it much harder for everyone else so LFR should have a normal level experience. They should bring LFR down to to everyone else’s level.

LRF is a nonsense in Invasion. One ship can’t have a mechanic that makes it 100% immune to every NPC, and grind without any real danger at any level.

EM scattering field should change threat priority, not to make one type of ship instant I-win button. This is the only ship (apart from really well made guard) that can grind them at wish, and get 0 damage in the proccess.

On the oposite side, there are groups of 5 pirates (that formentioned LFR kills without even lookign at the screen that much), that consist of bot Tackler and bot ECM, that lock you down and screw you over if you fly a non-tanky ship.

OR Biomorph groups that will rip most interceptors apart with almost unavoidable fire. There ar ecases when you can’t tank the bots, can’t kill them and can’t run away in certain ships.

 

I would say that either NPC escorts should be upgraded, EM field reworked for PVE, or aliens reworked to something more interesting, like a big frigate with a lots of drones (like Protoss Carrier) or spawned based on players strength in the zone.

 

My friend uses Mauler and I fly all 3 Inty’s for cover, sensors and general “carebear” duties, but while it works against potential player threats, It’s idiotic against NPC’s. The moment he enables EM field (and he does not last long without it against 3 Bio’s and a Hunter) they all switch to me instantly, with aimbot accuracy - so I can’t fight them, because they kill me in 2 seconds, and can only sit in camo or warp away. In ECM I’m dead instantly.

 

This has to change, it’s really bad design.

 

Back in the X series, aliens spawns were based on the zone threat AND on the sector activity. They also had their main targets, and followed a “mission” - their weapon was designed in a way simmilar to Pulse Laser, that although bot script would target player ship with 100% accuracy, random shooting pattern made is less lethal and “playable”

 

Let’s remember, that bot can’t “miss” with a laser or fast projectile weapon, unless his script tells him to. Design has to think of that, and instead of making stupid bots missing on purpose, should design a weapon that by it’s mechanics gives player a chance.

  • Implying invasion isnt 100% bias to tackler and recon pilots.
  • Last time people threw a bitchfit about snipers, covops became what it is now, borderline OP, and then snipers themselves were nerfed to sh*t even further.

Back in thet day, you could solo anything on a LRF because they wouldn’t shoot at you. So the nerf to the EM Scattering Field was pretty needed.

It should just be greyed out in Invasion.  If it does nothing, why do the devs pretend?  Anyway, you still have to collect your trophies, EM won’t work then.

Players can’t lock on you because EM Scattering Field nullifies radars, but they still have eyes to see and they can spot you and attack you. The fact that they don’t do it doesn’t mean they can’t. 

EM Scattering Field making bots never attack you was obviously broken, you could farm all you wanted without risks meanwhile other classes would have to squad up or give up on killing aliens.

I love killing LRFs who think they are hidden in PVP, especially those Aces that don’t reposition and try to snipe you when you are only 2K away from them…

 

I’m seeing fewer reverse thrusters around now also which is good.

 

With regards to invasion, it is perfect now.  I sometimes farm in an LRF when it’s not peak time and there is less risk of being found by a cov ops killer.

Considering you reduce your cooldown a 15% every time you kill a bot, no, cooldown time isn’t a risk because you’re permanently cloaked. Any other excuse?
