Yesterday our datacenter had to undergo maintenance required for a new uplink.

This should positively affect connectivity.

 

This also affected routing to the datacenter. It’s possible that routing tables didn’t update at some nodes, so in case of server availability problems, please, post the latest game logs and even better, trace the route to the server you couldn’t connect to (it should be indicated in game.log), then look for ERROR notifications.

What exactly does this mean? 

Honestly, I think the issue is simply to far of a distance for the data to travel across to many terrible ISPs. I know some north american isp’s have terrible servers.

North america basically pays the worst price to speed ratio.

Mbps are not related to latency and ping or Dns.

My point, is North American servers are terrible. They are getting better however, now that entrepreneur’s are finally working to provide better services. My mom has high speed internet and any time I play star conflict at her house it has terrible ping. But when I am home, I have fibreOptic internet which I get good ping on any servers.

What does it have to do with servers? To me this is an ISP problems

When I say server, I refer to the servers that ISP’s have that route traffic, so yes it’s an ISP problem. I have FibreOp in my area, what do you mean by it’s a lie? I get 75/30 internet with it, and like 130 ping on russian servers.

The infrastructure has been on fibre-optics since forever, while it was sold under different name, with new protocols they managed to increase consumer speeds, but the infrastructure is the same, it is juts a marketing move to include Fibre into the product name. It is same as 2g/3g/4g/LTE, w/e is sold under does not necessary mean it is comply with the actual capabilities of such protocols.

Plus, unless you live in brand new Condo building that is pre-wired with fibreoptic lines (which is a funny part 90% of public ISP not even using), the actual materials that go between your modem to the ISPs servers node is coax cable, i.e. copper wires.

I have a fibreoptic line in my Condo building - I literately have an outlet that is direct plug into fibreoptic network, so i called Rogers/Bell/Telus to inquire regarding their “Fibre” options, guess what - they still use regular, old days copper wires to go from my place to their servers, and the actual fibre line is not used by them. At least yet.

A lot of French have the issue, I’m collecting my members logs.

starcoaster can’t connect to any servers for star conflict, or even this website.

Well using VPN from USA worked fine, but without VPN I couldn’t connect.

Servers are back online now, however, if the devs could give a little compensation to the people affected (if they haven’t already) this would be greatly appreciated by the community as it’s probably beemquite stressful. I wasn’t able to get any response from the site or game servers at all, the launcher was freezing because it couldn’t see any servers.

As compensation, perhaps a couple of days premium or some parts for a secret project ship or something valuable.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to reduce ping and connection losses, not everything always goes to plan. Especially not with complex programs and machinery.

Servers are back online now, however, if the devs could give a little compensation to the people affected (if they haven’t already) this would be greatly appreciated by the community as it’s probably beemquite stressful. I wasn’t able to get any response from the site or game servers at all, the launcher was freezing because it couldn’t see any servers.

As compensation, perhaps a couple of days premium or some parts for a secret project ship or something valuable.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to reduce ping and connection losses, not everything always goes to plan. Especially not with complex programs and machinery.

NOPE!! Not yet! The game servers will let me log in for about 10-20sec before I dissconnect. If i try to enter a battle it dissconnects after about 30-40sec. I would not say that it is fixed at all yet.

Yesterday our datacenter had to undergo maintenance required for a new uplink.

This should positively affect connectivity.

 

This also affected routing to the datacenter. It’s possible that routing tables didn’t update at some nodes, so in case of server availability problems, please, post the latest game logs and even better, trace the route to the server you couldn’t connect to (it should be indicated in game.log), then look for ERROR notifications.

Can we get a update from the developers on WTH is going on and what are they plaing to do about the event that has started that most of us aren’t Guna be able to do

okay! I have a few gripes about this…

#1…I lost one full day of premium !

#2…I lost all points I’d accumulated, plus a cargo-hold full of goodies!

#3…when I finally got to log in this evening, I was told the missiles “Firestorm-V” and “flat-reflector V” were “outdated” and had been removed! (I’d just “updated” them!)…when I went to re-install, I had to buy the same missiles and lens! and re-purchase without getting them “updated”…

#4…the game also “charged” me 70,000 credits for repairs !!! to my Mjolnir I was flying when the game crashed and booted me out, because it wouldn’t let me use the gates or dock!

 

I’m a “paying customer” and have been spending money on this game…my latest purchase through paypal, I may have to ask them to get a refund if this is NOT handled this time, to my satisfaction !

Stop complaining and get them your game.log FFS.
