Idea, at a glance Karma on HUD

Right now if you get very low karma you get auto flagged in ever zone regardless of station protection, so it quickly becomes obvious who the bad guys are.

 

Ofc you can try hide this by killing lot pirates etc but thats another matter…

 

But how can you spot the good guys? currently you can’t, but perhaps the karma system could be used to flag them.

 

If you have 4-5 Karma, then you show up Blue in danger zones (still attackable, not protected)

If you have 1-3 Karma, then you show up Yellow in danger zone (again still attackable, not protected)

 

Killing a yellow target will have much larger Karma loss than a normal kill.

Killing a Blue target will have a HUGE Karma loss, compared to normal/yellow kill.

 

 

This will allow a true reputation of trustworthy and un-trustworthy people, you know who the pirates and villans are, and you have idea who have your back in a fight, but if you do annoy them (stealing thier loot) then you can still be a victim to there blazing guns.

 

On the reverse side, killing said pirates will grant more positive Karma IF your already positive.

This will also allow big fights where its easier to tell who ‘probably’ is fighting on your side (assuming they not in your squad already)

it would create a good vs bad conflict, almost like factions, but not limited or restricted by it.

 

plus in big fights you easier be able to tell who is ‘probably’ fighting with you (assuming they not in your squad)

Why not coupling it with some new graphics?

I’m thinking of a thing like that :

A player is distingued by the same colored square. Yellow for aggressive, blue for ally, red for criminal and Grey for neutral.

Depending on the karma level the square’s design is modified. So a level 0 karma is a simple square. A level 1 is a square with tiny blue angel wings. Level 2, the wings are a bit bigger,… And for negative karma it’s the same, but with red guns wings.

Oh I agree with you, I just wanted to point out that this has been suggested a few times now in case someone reads these threads :slight_smile:
