I am back, and I need Guide suggestions

After an extended absence due to several reasons, I’ll be back online more frequently (the forums as well).  I had a (VERY) long duration of not being able to log in at all, and this is finally resolved.

I will be updating my guide on engineering frigates as well as posting new guides to other ship classes.  Please, vote in the poll and suggest which ship class I should cover next.

You can view my original guide, “How to Play More Intelligently as an Engineering Frigate” here: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/21808-how-to-play-more-intelligently-as-an-engineering-frigate/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/21808-how-to-play-more-intelligently-as-an-engineering-frigate/)

Also, is it possible to have my guide pinned?  It’s been acclaimed by many, and I feel as if it is the most complete engineering guide to date.  Or should we wait until it is updated and finalized?

***EDIT***  I can make a more condensed version of that guide where I exclude some of the more…general topics I discuss (the metagame, for example).

recon guide pls because i fail at recon

I really liked your former post, but please update and create a new one

We will not pin such an old one.

Even if the original text is very good and adequate in most cases (my personal opinion)

If you update your text on a new thread I am happy to pin it.

The is already of Tackler and Command guide that are of good quality. They are comprehensive and pinned showing that they are of good quality. Therefore please do not vote for Command or Tackler. Personally I am taking this as an insult because you, not mentioning names, think my guide is not good enough.

Command Guide: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/23349-command-introductory-guide/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23349-command-introductory-guide/)

Guard guides are available but they are only ship specific. I nominate Razka to make the comprehensive guide.

LRFs sorely need good guides for those few people who try to learn to play LRF better.

I’m hoping for an ECM guide. I’ve asked around for tips and the most I got was “derp around”. Not that it doesn’t work…

Nevarrr!!! I don’t want more ECMnubs around, they are so annoying!

Covert Ops or Recon Guide would be great.

Whoops, I already made an LRF guide wrote on paper. I just forgot to send it in a new thread. I’m doing it right now.

And yeah, make us a recon/covert ops guide, I don’t know how to fly a CO.

Bother me in the game and I can show you around for CO. The real trouble is that there are a number of ways to pilot the ship.

I had seen you mention that you were leveing Intys, more than anything I recommend starting off with keeping your team members in action. IE: when the engineer is attacked kill who is attacking them. O, and Q&E are your best friend. Be sure to use them if you aren’t already.

I read the guide on Tackler it was fairly good. Certainly enough to get a beginer by. I didn’t agree on engine supressor though. It is a great module. I seam to recall Ion beam being down played. Getting the idea that 90% of tacklers want freeze beam.

Good guide, another is not needed…

I suck hard with recon, my vote is there.

With recon you can kill but mainly I use it for objectives and to outmaneuver opponents.

Shall we discuss over the finer points of weapon and module evaluation at the tackler handbook thread? More ideas = better guide for everyone. Or in this case, for new players.

EDIT: made a couple of edits to quantify my own evaluation of IB, ES and gravi.

I derped around in a recon before I realized it was more fun derping with an ECM. So i still can’t fly recon (or covops) for nuts.

Don’t worry, my interceptor skills are not that bad at all. I never die and help my teammates. But I can kill anything with those guns unless I spam rockets or don’t move.

Any updates planned for the engie guide? Like weapon and missile evaluation and build options?

Done.  Link here: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/24459-engineer-overview-and-the-tactics-of-the-engineer-frigate/](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/24459-engineer-overview-and-the-tactics-of-the-engineer-frigate/)

Done, but has much room for improvement imo.  I didn’t spend much time on weapons, as they are all good in their own ways.  I spent more time on tactics than anything else.

I have removed “Tackler” from my list.  The community is right, the original is great and does not need another.  However, I will leave the others for now.

No removal of command from the list? you make me feel hurt in the chest.

My guides are structured differently than yours.  I discuss much more of the tactical aspect of the ship roles instead of the overview and general stats that your guides provide.  I am not suggesting that your guides are not sufficient, but rather that they lack the complex strategies involved (your Tackler guide was good, but the Command felt a bit incomplete).  Sure, you cover all aspects of the command ship regarding module use and play styles and implants, but I am more concerned with discussing formations and advanced usages.

This is a community, and there are different opinions.  You should not take offense when someone wants to provide a different viewpoint.  You guides are good, and you should be proud of them.  I am simply taking a different approach to the same topic.

I didn’t make the tackler guide. O_o
