I rather ignore discussions like this since it’s just outright misinformation but okay - let’s try break down why you think people are cheating.
You mention “damage anomalies” - do you fully understand how damage calculation is performed in Star Conflict, along with how different kinds of buffs interact with each other?
If you are taking large amounts of damage do the following:
• What debuffs did you have?
Resistance debuffs multiply against damage buffs very aggressively - so did you have any negative resistance (ie; undocking with Albireo, Irbis special module, Target Painter).
There are also debuffs that just flat out add extra damage to already incoming damage (weakness detector, crystal infiltrator)
If you’re running a Destroyer then you need to keep in mind that the 2.5x damage increase from enemies within 1000m is multiplicative as it is effectively lopped on at the end of damage calculation, so if you’re taking damage from an explosive weapon, within 1000m, have reduced resistances and the enemy is receiving damage buffs. You’re going to die very quickly.
• What equipment did your enemy have access to?
Rather than accusing your enemy of “aimbot” or “too much damage” - check via the Atlas, or the ship itself if you own it to see what the enemy has access to that could cause that interpretation.
Did a Yith’Mor never miss with a laser briefly?
They’re using the Crystal Beacon special module. It automatically aims for the module duration.
Did a Plague Doctor do absurdly massive damage?
They’re using Adaptive Plugin and Orion Targetting Complex to buff their damage massively (up to +251% damage increase excluding neardeathbig).
Did a random enemy just “break out” of a stun?
Check if their shield was dropped - if so, that was Gigas III wiping all debuffs. If not, you may have ramped up diminishing returns, making the stun last a significantly lower duration.
• What were you doing?
There are different ways to just “die randomly” but some of them can be strictly your or your allies fault.
Energy Converter - it literally reflects damage, so if you see someone using it you are supposed to stop shooting. Naturally, most randoms in PvP know to do this.
Resistance reduction penalties - there are quite a few in the game now, so paying attention to what they are and making sure not to use them when taking damage will make sure you have a better chance at surviving (or at the very least, trading).
Some off the top of my head;
•MGS-Box camo (-35pts while active)
•Reverse Thruster (-50pts)
•Changing Swarm modes (anywhere from -40 to -125pts)
•Undocking with Albireo (forced -100pts)
•Custodian or Raven special modules (Custodian loses all bonus resistances, Raven cops -30pts)
•How did they know I was there?
Star Conflict doesn’t tell you if you are sensor visible or not. They may have been able to see you the entire time, leaving you unlocked to let you think they couldn’t see you.
If you were near an enemy beacon, you may have received the “beacon attacker” status due to drones, turrets, mines or a lingering AoE hitting a Guard Drone. Being marked as a Beacon Attacker makes you radar visible while you have it (along with increasing the effectiveness gain from killing you).
It might have literally just been a bot.
If you play during a lower population timezone you’re going to run into bots a lot - the game adds them to battles to take up slots till players join, but they’re far from perfect. If you’re holding a bomb in the Detonation game mode they will find you regardless of sensor visibility from across the map until you die or drop the bomb (yes, you can do that manually - C by default). In team battle they will pick a random opponent to fight the moment they spawn. Naturally, that could just be you.
Please, use the tools available to you to piece the puzzle together yourself or better yet; ask.
Not everyone is cheating - you’re just getting outplayed. So if you want to learn to survive in this mess of a meta - stop playing battleships and start playing chess.
If you can’t outskill them, outsmart them.
