what is the fastest way to add a stranger to the group in an open world?

Just have them message you or type /w and then their name and message them. right click and inv them to a group.

But can you do it in game and have them join your group without visiting the hangar? Doubt it.
You can form party/squad (sadly /invite [name] is not working), but I have yet to see how to leave or disband party. I have been deemed leader for awhile (until I docked), so did a friend of mine, so we could not party before one of us docked.
it seems to me that in an open world adding to the group should be easier and quicker.
