High Latency from the Philippines / Always connects to an RU-hosted game.

Hello,

I’m from the Philippines and I have been playing SC for a while now, but often it seems that i get high latency very often, in the order of 300ms+. Rarely do i get anything that is playable, that is around the order of 250ms or so.

According to what i read, connection in a match depends on where the match is hosted, so i’m guessing that 11 out of 10 matches that i am in are in the general Europe/Russia Area- very rarely do i get a US-based match.

I have run conntester and WinMTR as instructed on one of the FAQ articles, and here are the logs from them. (only one address was timing out so I can’t upload anything).

A quick review shows that the US node has the bearable latency that i really need.

Is there any way to remedy the latency problem to EU/RU?

or, at least probably do a tweak that would let me land on US-based match that is NOT made in a room/random match?

You can set the server you connect to, but only in custom battles. Wish I knew another solution for you. I will keep this open and see if any other solutions pop up.

i managed to get into a US-hosted random match.

It was bliss…

I’ll try setting up rooms, but with the general population, i’m probably better off at randoms.

Hmm… find 3 people in the US and squad with them, you will likely end up on US servers everytime Im guessing  Hope it helps
