it’s not the best solution, but better than nothing. it exists for a long time now. why cry now?
if they just take it out, game is even worse. before they introduced this nobody flew r12.
what should exist is a general overhaul, yes. but actually the resistance bonuses are quite a fair solution. the damage bonus isn’t really feelable.
again this is just a scapegoat topic. people are angry, and they blame stuff. even things that are actually in their favor.
i know this maybe hurts, and i dont say this lightly, but you are simply wrong with this. the only other solution is a complete revamp of the logic how ships gain their base stats. removing the buffs will only make the game less balanced.
anyway, why keep bringing this up in every discussion now.

since the weapons and ships are weaker, it does not affect as much as some of you say it does. i use r12 because of their smaller model size a lot, and use one r10 fit to optimize my proxy mortar, which is r12, otherwise i would use it in r15 ships, since this option exists. orelus e.g. was called strongest gunship now, but its rather because of the long range beam and available reworked modules from a lot more ships since it has ranks above and below, it actually still dies faster than a spark, it just usually plays now further away, so the buffs do nothing in that regard.

ultra long range builds were used opportunisticly when the meta was allowing it to do, with quite a high kill rate by some individuals.

afaik the flux even has been nerfed since that time, but it was somewhere in the last year.
meta sometimes allows such shenanigans to be uncounterable in a pub environment. it would not work in small games.
get into solo pub pvp queue, or you will miss many discussions like this.
data is important, but without the first hand experience, interpretation of data is flawed.
i understand perfectly why people bring these points. i dont completely agree with all of them totally, but they have merit, or at least i can remember when i saw stuff like that happening.

i would have to record the game to get a true picture of why the experience is like this.
however, i am absolutely on your side with this, this indeed happens. not every second game, but a lot.
I just dont blame the players at all, i dont think there is a secret way to do it, i just think the mm is bonkers, and i think the answer was just a joke
