So regarding your worry about frigates and destroyers. Thar’Ok’ Beamer is being tweaked so it won’t have that… overwhelming heavy target erasure effect. Tacklers will get also some tweaks that should make them more resilient. Regarding it’s speed, yeah well it can teleport and reach 700 with ease, also high strafe. But it’s a recon and supposed to be the most mobile of all, for that it’s survability and damage capabilities will be much more limited compared to Thar’Ga.

Most of fed interceptors used to be like that, and we had tremendously less auto aim stuff in the game, and it was considered fine. Plus there aren’t that many people in the game still capable of handling such platform, who knows, maybe this will bring them back.
Well tharga left a sour taste but taikin should be fine, if something happens to slip away, do point it out in a timely and politely manner.

Tacklers have AOE slow with slow missile field, ECM’s AOE stun is as much movement impairing as module disabling and their energy drain field is Movement impairing as well, Recons have AOE Slow, Commands have AOE buffs, Engineers have AOE buffs, All frigates have EM torps and Mines which are easily AREA denial, Commands have Disables on missiles, Recons have Mines, Everyone has Attack Drones and Doomsday missiles, CovOps have nukes with Area denials,pretty much everything has Area influence one way or another, and since always everything had overlapping mechanics of others, before 0.7 and after 0.7 changes.

It’s because of this kind of mentality that mans can’t wear skirts.
Tacklers should slow. They shouldn’t deal damages. So remove the 20% damage buff with Camo + target painter + both drones and heavy drones. They are modules made for damages purpose. That’s the gunship role.

Guards can’t go 700 like thar’ga.
As for the rest, ok there’s a lot of AoE in the game, but this is changing the role of the gunship. If they also give it support ship modules like tackle mods and pulsar then they should reduce the ship’s damage.

Well with YOUR mentality, we should be able to fit everything on every ship… I wasn’t here in 2013 but I have heard some funny stories about minefields on ceptors… The classes are there for a reason. If we have a ship class system then it should be respected. Oh and scottish men do wear skirts called kilts!

As far as I know, Inibitor swarm is available only to gunships. You won’t see inties with it. So no problem.
You can’t compare the old “Everything available to everybody” and “One specific module available to one specific role”.

For starters I would love to see you flying tharga at 700 and realising full dps of it.
2d Guards can fly 500+ and still debuff a huge area around
3rd on average good Guard out put MORE dmg than a good Gunship in a single battle, and yet it still has all the debuff capabilities
4th for the longets time gunships were the “purest” role without overlaps into behaviours of different roles, ever other roles has something form others one way or another, it was just a gunship that only had dmg. There are no amendments in stone in this game that this must be this, period, variety is by game design, even though based on the weather, star alignments and mood swings we get more or less of that through different means.
Tharga is still not okay.

I guess it is fine that alien faction incorporations hull, tankiness and maneuverability & speed. The sick part is that the way nodes work it lets you chose all 3 at once, and that’s what makes it stupid.
