I used this Federation Black Bomber recon to do that Guardian Predator open space duty. GP has 2 drones following it around. Some situational and environmental advantages are necessary. Mainly, wait for GP to get tangled up with 2 (blue) scavenger npc’s. It says I was assisted by 3 ships. I don’t know what the 3rd was. I did use the holo ships, but they did not last long. I don’t know how much or if any damage was done with the proximity mines. I was able to do 40% of the damage and hang around to loot it. I got 20 iriidium and mission synergy.
I’m sure Guardian Predator is meant to be done by squads instead of waiting for squishy scavengers to come around.
I like the doomsday & cloak plan. I do this for ship synergy, so I’m more likely to try it with a regular tackler from Jericho.
I do have Grey Falcon with synergy 1/10.
I did it again last night with the same Black Bomber recon, but this time was without the scavenger npc’s in the fight. I stayed in the tailpipes of Guardian Predator and did RF Blaster damage the whole time. It was not always easy to tell which end was the rear of GP. Using adaptive shields goes against this approach because GP is moving much slower than what adaptives on an intercepter need for activation. Do something else with the shields instead of what’s in my pic :D A covert ops would be more efficient at this than the recon. I’m thinking a tackler with damage buffs can do it this way too. The trickiest part is getting close without being shot, and you have to get in while Hunters won’t aggro, shoot and do their version of guard pulsars.
Rf blaster strafe golden eagle or falcon is also good. Jarl on scatter gun is great as well.
Problem with RF blasters is the range is very, very close to being inside the permanent pulsar. Crit build plasma guns get nearly the same DPS (especially when you compensate for spread) with almost double the range.
Guardian Predator must be different than “Predator”. Predators have pulsar which is on way too often. It seems like I never had to get away from a pulsar coming from GP. Anyway, I can’t do regular Predators with a recon or a covert ops unless it’s a Predator severely weakened by other ships. If I have to kill a regular Predator alone, it’ll have to be done with long range guided missles and cloaking.

It isn’t. This is the same kind of Predator. Seasoned, Veteran and Guardian are just there to indicate their danger levels. They indicate difficulty. It is a shame, that the loot rewards do not change or increase, though.
There’s two feasible ways you can take down a Predator. The first one is, use any ship and take cover.
The second is, equip your Inquisitor S with a Shared Cooler, Iridium Heatsink, Pulse Discharger, 3x EM Diffusers, 2x EM Insulators, Infrared Scanner, Heavy Blaster, Curved Reflector, Anomaly Generator, Signature Masking, Pulsar, Emergency Shield Booster and Liquid Metal Injector. Have everything at Mk4 or up to Mk5.Set Phase Shields to EM. Fire anomaly generators from long range. Fire Heavy Blasters. Win!
