This seems to be the hardest thing to obtain, monocrystals are easier to come by!!
Aside from the vague chance of getting a tiny bit from salvaging upgrade kits there is no reliable way to obtain it. Am I missing something or am I just very unlucky?
If you have the credits to send the t5 mk4 upgrade kits to your warehouse, you will get more than enough materials for everything. I get those every couple of battles.
It’s also available in open space but not sure where they are more common. Usually you have to get ore and turn it into graphite plate.
Salvaging kits only give the plates, which is good
Another thread suggests, that you dont need to put the modules in the warehouse to salvage them. You still get the other scrap parts if you salavage in the post game screen, you just dont get the notifications for those.
Not sure if it’s the best way, but I got most of my graphite by buying tier 5 Passive Armor modules, upgrading them to mk2, and salvaging them. They are worth 2x plates a pop, and are the cheapest module I could find credit-wise that dropped them.
Used to be the self-destruct module was this way, and then they ninja-nerfed it and it no longer drops plates when salvaged.
I don’t know about any graphite plate locations, but for impure graphite i usually just fly through Fort Muerto while switching between docking stations, there are quite a lot of valuable minerals near the Raider Range gate and they respawn quickly.
For actively farming impure graphite i always used Research Center, never really tried Terramorphing Station and Scrapyard is pretty good, but it seems i’m waiting for the valuable minerals to respawn far more often in Scrapyard than in Research Center. Either way you can’t go wrong with any of these 3 locations because at least all 3 of them have a cargo drone located in the zone.
They drop from commonly from every single “Valuable” or “Large” mineral… You don’t even need to go to specific sector, as drop rate is the same for every sector. Terraforming has just this convenience of having resources closer to each other.
