Yeah, no fcking clue why that ship was buffed. Maybe not enough people were buying them with GS, like the Vigilant…? (Vigilant got buffed right before it was no longer possible to craft it, so more people would feel pushed to splash cash on one)

Because it was too weak…on R5-7, where it really was. On r8+, that abomination of a ship is indestructible.
Everyone who did not see that movie, should watch it. Scenes of this movie still gives me the chills. And it’s not even an horror movie, lol. Also based on the most veridict encounter story of the united states. Maybe not anymore but. Just search about it if you wanna know more after watching the movie.

I got in like 15 secondes late. And if you’ve seen those 2 in a battle… Anyway got in camped, everyone dead in matter of secondes after invincibilty going down. They were unkilable and their team bright enought to let them lead the charge. Not in game and i dont recall the name, but they have that module that shield you and redirect damage into a beam, paired with their spec mod and stacking up assist, reducing cd on the active module(shield beam). And their freacking dps.
Anyway that’s what it gave. I haven’t seen that bad again but saw another with top 3 going from 130+ to 600 eff, rest 0. Those 2 guy mastered that ship. Lost every battle against them and won all those with them in my team.
Permanent, and close to permanent, mass propulsion inhibitor(even activated version ,cooldown implant), perma signature masking, tons of battles 4+ Thar’Ga vs 0 sloted in the other team.
They must be participating in a contest where you got to have the most broken balance in a game.
By the way, that makes ECM resist module a non-factor, and now, Recon and ECM guns are pretty must useless pea shooters. At least cov ops still has crits.
Now dont tell me new stuff comes out broken and then get nerfed… It should be tested before being implemented…If it has been tested, well then it’s a path SC is taking which i will not follow.
I give this game till summer to make me change my mind. Otherwise it will have been a fun 2 years.
DD’s still are useless support. Which is why almost nobody use them in pvp. When they do; Sit 7km from the fight and shoot stuff with guns and only using photon emmiter module. When they get a bit closer they go boom in a few secondes. Anyway they dont come close anymore, because of guards rendering them a big static, low damage piece of metal.*
Yes it’s the same for both team, everyone is stuck with the same mechanics. That doesn’t mean balance.
Most of the changes made, seems to be for tactical groups/ SCL and Dreads. If so, those changes should be locked to those mode. You get in a SCL or Dread, your modules effects change to what we have now. While in regular pvp it’s the basic we had and loved and on which almost no1 ever complained.
Destroyers are particulary useful to hardcounter the current Guard spam. That makes Destroyers extra viable. Also, I love the Guard revamp. Makes these ships useful now. Guards are great to counter a Thar’Ga flock, too.
All in all, the current patch got many things right: Guards are useful now, Destroyers are more useful, Thar’Gas can be countered. (Still OP though).
LOL this is funny… since the dawn of time ppl were complaining about Frigate swarm… too many guards…then it became too many gunships… covt ops… and ECMs used to drive players NUTS

As for Spawn Camping … it has always been game over once the OTHER Team got into your SPAWN area…been that way since Beta

Update on my last post. I heard that they plan on tweaking/buffing every roles. If so, that should even out in the long run.
Maybe they should release all of them at the same time. Otherwise, it will most probably create imbalance for what, the next 6 months or so. With underdog roles, those who still gonna need their review while others are dominating the battlefield.
They can give us small patches with little goodies every month till then.
But then, i’m not in the TarGem office, so i dont know their vision. Maybe they decided to sacrifice a year, to then, give us an incredibly awesome game. AAA quality pvp, pve and a totaly immersive Open Space mmorpg. Lvl’ing up attributes of ships just like you’d do for a character.(unlocking nodes)
SideNote: I think they nailed the Thar’Ga nerf this time. Still a pretty great ship, but not insanly Op survivabilty.

Maybe, but for exemple. The Steam reviews, back then till recently always have been on the very positive side. Now you look at the recent reviews, it went from very positive to mixed(mostly negative). In a single drop. Most gamers use steam now, so a game killed with reviews, on this platform, is really a bad thing for it.
I say it when i dont like something, just like i do when i like it and make topics about it.
Also, i might be wrong, but i think that most of what you stated was a tactical problem, not imbalance. A bit maybe but not game breaking.
Tactical problem,; For exemple, the now exploited scatter field-/reverse jump.
I have to admit today I got a quest for killing interceptors with tackler. It occured thargas died much easier than inties with Jag - Gauss - Crit build.A lot of guards around help as well.
