Under overdrive the gauss charges much faster, so I assume that increasing rate of fire increases the rate of charge. I’ve never tested it though.

I tried it earlier on a tackler, after Dirk told me about this. It seems the rate of charge is increased, but only by a little amount. Adding three iridium heatsink only increased the rate of charge from 1 charge per second to about 1 charge per 0.5 seconds, although it is hard to count. I would rather have three pulse dischargers I think.

The damage is nice, but I don’t use more than one due to energy issues.

Same here.
I know SpongeJohn has a nice build for a gauss-mjolnir that uses 2 heatsinks and 1 pulse discharger.
Like Cr0, I don’t recommend fed gunships for gauss. If you have the spark or lightbringer use it, Mjolnir is most preferable though.
For a lightbringer build (max damage), I would use gauss with shaped charge shells, inertial stabilizer, pulse discharger, shield w/e you like, galvenized, thermal, kinetic for hull, infrared and 2 coprocessors for cpu. (and be sure to use E2 implant for 10% more crit chance). If you don’t like having only 3.8k range, you could switch to the F2 implant and use 2 infrared an 1 coprocessor.
For actives: i would use combat reboot, engine overcharge (pirate is awesome), nanocomposite or particle purge, repair kit. Aiming overcharge isnt really necessary as you are fully charging all of your shots
combat reboot is the best module a gunship has (not counting overdrive)
Imo one of the best modules in the whole game.

yep it’s definitely up there
After some testing its my opinion that the Piranjah works neither with the Gauss nor with the Assault very well. With Gauss and Adaptive build u have very high survivability, but dont do much damage. Still its the best combination i figured out. Also its plain boring to fly. Its a mystery to me how this ship is supposed to work.

Bubbles, or optionally curved ion emitter
Personally, I think your best bet for gauss is the mjolnir. If you don’t have it, the apollo and lightbringer can work quite nicely.
Yeah, thats what i think too.

It has the same slot layout that the Tiger M iirc, so basically, you can fly it as an adaptive dogfighter with bubbles. It is a pity you can’t use its native rail bonuses.
As a fast harasser it also works well with rails and gauss, but the problem is that you can build a mjolnir for that which will work better.
If they switch the rail bonuses on the piranha for bubble bonuses (like more speed and less spread) it would be great.
Effective critical hit build from last year, build is still good to use.

Nice video.
How to use homing missiles from behind cover 101. Very cool.

Goodness gracious, that was a long time ago. Overdrive still 12 seconds long, gauss didn’t charge itself.
