Gaming Setup M/K, Gamepad or joystick

I’m looking for something better than Xbox 360 controller for SC. It’s just not working out. I do pretty well considering its gamepad vs what you guys use but aiming is just crap and you get close then I’m just done.

SOOOO… I would like to see what you guys are using and give some feedback on a good one that’s cheap in price but not in quality. I’m not rich but need something better than this.

Not to mention the devs wont fix the gamepad support so time to move on. I like playing casually but don’t like getting killed by pro’s lol

I’m using this one but i have no idea why its so expensive, when i bought it in my local store it was dirt cheap and new. There is a separate app ($$$) for reeeaaalllyyy mapping the mouse in a ton of ways (pirated it). I can tell you more but i doubt it’s appealing to you by design lol

I actually looked at that one and it looks like a good setup but yeah the price is a bit steep for something like that. The one I’m looking at is similar but the buttons are one the side. Being a gamepad user I remember button placement anyway so I don’t actually need to be able to see the buttons. High dpi is a must also.

I have gigabit internet and normally about 40 ping depending on the server ofc. I use random server so it varies. If we had more players then I might use NA servers…

The price probably changed from last year and its a very good mouse, i spent like 25-30€ for it and pirated the app. The stuff you can do with it goes really really close to abusing mechanics but i refrain from it since i dont want trouble with reports, basically i keep it simple just dividing the difficulty of playing equally on both hands so i don’t feel the pressure anymore of pressing 1234wasdqe-space-alt-shift-ctrl-c-x-f with my left hand and left-right mmb click with my right hand.

One of my friends used Xcontroller with a program that mapped controller keys to keyboard pressing along with a mouse. But since rotate keys are no more, he can’t use it anymore. Aiming with just a controller sucks.

Also think twice before buying a mouse that have all those keys. For me most of them are extremely uncomfortable. Razer Naga Hex is acceptable but its expensive. If you can, go to the shop where you can actually hold it in your hand.

Thanks for the tips…

Right now I am using a standard 3 button mouse to practice with and use the gamepad in my left hand for moving and a few active mods. Its working very well but its going to take practice. I see now why I was getting my butt kicked so often now. I knew there were advantages but now that I’m doing it in SC I can actually hit people pretty steady now. lol ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

I also now see what AdamWest was saying about flying inty with high ping. Ship cant keep up with the aiming and you end up spinning a lot and go out of control. NUISSANCE!
