Absolutely made up numbers but i’d believe it if someone else posted it.
And support play in T3 is rewarded.
Play engineer in T2 to help out coz no one is willing to? all you get is lolnub by your own team-mates and a hefty repair bill. 0 assists.
Play engineer in T3? I instantly get 2 - 3 bodyguards right from the start (until they get distracted). assist points tyvm
there were great games and awesome random team-mates in T2 for sure. but those were the exceptions rather than the rule.
was this game in my last session, T3 detonation. 2 bases left each
I was engy with allied bomb carrier behind and above me. Killed enemy runner right beside me and we ended up with both EMPs 4,300m out from enemy A behind a rock. A gunship pilot asked me for the EMP but i didn’t trust him had nowhere to warp and said No. the ENTIRE team flocked around the two of us and we crept towards the base at my frigate speed. Enemy had to choose who to kill. Me the engineer, the engineer below me or the interceptor bomb carrier above me that we were shield tanking. They chose me whilst our Inty runner, ran. Blues blew up the second base seconds before time and we took home the win 2 - 1 as the weaker team. That was one repair bill I paid gladly.
So yea it was a random side against a premade NOVA squad. I’m not shattered over the loss, just how lonely it felt flying in my frig even though I had 3 fighters camping the same beacon. I’m not dissing my team-mates but that’s your atypical day as a T2 engineer ever since the last patch.
It wasn’t the win. ok maybe a little. It was the interaction between pilots. I didn’t fly alone. Team-mates rarely waste the opportunity after I strip away someone’s shields. And neither do I fight alone while helping people out. If I get shot at - I’m pretty damned confident someone on my side is gonna come over and say Oh-No-You-Don’t
Also everyone seems to know what to do and when. Ok you get mal-coordinated attempts now and again but that’s more of either ego getting in the way or misunderstandings. All in all, support play is rewarded coz it’s expected. You get backup when providing the same to others. I rarely get annoyed after a loss in T3 coz I do feel everyone on the team tried for the win. That is simply not true most of the time in T2 and that’s why I lurk in T3 even when I have no business being there.
To all my random T3 team-mates who endured the incessant rapes from premade top corp squads ever trying for that rare victory,
sadly t2 is more balanced but t3 is having the better players… and yeah in t2 no one wants to fly engy because of op covert ops. it isn’t fun if you get swarmed all the time even if you play defensively and are dead half of the game.
I just got into tier 3 with 2 ships.I lost a match and that’s ok as i have 0 synergy BUT the problem is I just lost 20K credits after i repaired them both. So how does this go? I can’t make profit anymore unless i win? Even if i do i win like 20k(after repairs). Ofc this is with 95% bonus as both ships are T3 Mark 1. Does it get better? Should i just farm with my T2 ships until i can afford a T3 mark3 to make some money?
When you get used to T3 going back to T2 is not that much of fun - playing against strong enemies(T3 squads) is challanging, but playing with bad teammates(T2) is annoying.
I play only T3 and i only play for fun, although i feel the price problem with T4
I see a major problem with that generalisation. I’ve had T2, or even T1 games where it felt like the team was coming together and working as a unit. I’ve had T3 matches where I was somehow matched into a Beacon Capture mission, whilst everyone else was playing Deathmatch.
Tier 3 does not automatically give you awesome teammates. If anything, it just makes the pricks more arrogant and the idiots more insufferable…
T3 dont give you better allies automaticly, but to get there you have to play more so chances are that the avrage t3 player is noticeably better than the avrage T2 player
And you have irrefutable proof that T2’s norm is nothing but talentless solo’ers who can’t work as a team, whilst T3’s norm are pilots so skilled that the US Air Force is considering giving them a job purely based on their in-game performance?
No, I don’t think you do. Personally, I suspect T3 is either where you got recruited into a Corp, or where your Corp actually started taking teamwork seriously, so you’ve got this notion that “this is what it’s all about.” Tier 1 and 2 are just as much about teamwork and co-ordination as T3 or T4 is - it’s just nobody bothers to put the effort in because the Old Guard won’t fly anything below Rank 9.
You got more modules in t3-4 than in t1-t2 and thoes are restricted to your class, so theres more diffrence between the classes at higher tiers and therefore needs more tactics to use each ships strenghts and cover others weaknesses. In T1, most players barly knows what their are doing because they dont have much experience with the game, as expected, same thing for T2, but to a MUCH smaller degree. In T3 you have to focus fire in order to even hurt something, which demands coordination, and players are better at the game from more experience->easier to use teamwork.

If you die 4 times with more than one ship, that repair bill is gonna be big. use only one ship per match unless your team needs a specific class.
