Well the Dogs of War presentation video from a couple of weeks ago has almost 14000 views (the English one)!! I think an average of 2k views (like the first tutorial has) is not too bad. I hope there is some link to them at the end of the tutorials, something like “for more info on how to become a pro, watch these videos!”.

When I was looking at those videos, I am glad that they started doing this, but when I checked the view count… I had to take… a pill.

Considering the length of these videos this result is not so bad for now, but of course, we want more views.

No seriously, I am slightly concerned.

 

  1. The new trailer shows a kill count of these special ‘infected’ to be 666 for the Tier 3 module. Naturally, I am assuming we are going with the ever-increasing kill requirement that was absolutely hated from the ‘Miss Summer’ quests. So how many kills will we have to farm in order to get the Tier 4 and Tier 5 variants???

 

  1. The module itself is a Shield Stripper for Command Fighters only. So you are running an event in which the reward module is restricted to a single ship class? Why? I don’t see the point, as pilots who have no interest in the Command class probably won’t bother to invest the massive amount of time these modules will require to earn. And I doubt that this module alone will make other pilots interested in the Command class. If anything, it will make pilots rage more about them.

 

2a. Unless… there will be more class-restricted modules in other game types? In which case, we are repeating the ‘Miss Summer’ mistake in full.

 

  1. In the demo video, said module was able to completely strip the shield of a Blood Tormentor in 7 seconds. That’s a pretty OP module. And it is specifically designed to counter Guard frigates. Hull-tanks like the Empire ships won’t be affected since they don’t have much shields to speak of. But Jericho ships? Jericho ships will get mauled.

 

  1. If this module is unobtainable after the special quest time, balance will become a nightmare; assuming it is EVER balanced. I’m thinking of the Flux Phaser right now. And now I’m envisioning a Saw One with a Flux Phaser and Shield Stripper… *shivers*

 

So yeah, I have some concerns…

Only watched some of the 7th video as I am currently on a train and wifi is intermittent, but I did note some misinformation. For the Assualt Rails you said that the iridium slugs reduced overheating, when in fact they reduce spread, for Ion Beams you said that the Horizon module would increase damage output, it does quite the opposite, reducing damage by 5% but increases your range.

 

666 kills for a T3 mod??! what lol. How long will this event be on for? I hope it is for a while as I can not play for another fortnight :frowning: Such a good mod to pass up on too. Exclusive mods like this are not a good thing imo, nice for the people that have them , but it unbalances it for people who don’t. There either needs to be more events to obtain these special mods, or make then craftable/purchasable  after a certain amount of time after they were initially released.

Otherwise, solid introduction to the missile types. Maybe some emphasis on other factors such as number of missiles per cartridge would have been useful.

As many as possible, I don’t know the exact number (and nobody knows).

I don’t know how much dread battle mode will change but please make a video of sector conquest. As I see most players that don’t play it do so because they don’t know how to do it or what it is at all. Like the solo queuing option for people with no wing, corporation or dreadnought. Awesome thing. Still, in my corp e.g. only a few knows about it or plays it. If I didn’t put a small note of it into the message of the day and I wouldn’t keep advertising it no one ever tried it. Okay it might be exaggeration but not too much. Thx.

 

P.S.: A notification of open spots for solo registration in chat would also be an awesome thing.   

a mention of tacklers wouldve been great (they have an important role to slow and take down easily bomb carriers)

I was surprised in video 9 that they mentioned some things about tactical placement that I wasn’t sure anybody else was familiar with. That is some good attention to detail. Not so much in a few other areas but as a fighter player primarily I’m satisified with the quality in that area.
