Game Crashes (force-closes) upon loading a map

Immediately after “Triangulation,” the loading screen for the map starts and I presume the map begins to load.  and that’s when the game crashes.  This all started with the 0.10.4.51670 (Linux) (May 15 2014) update. All previous versions of Star Conflict worked perfectly fine for me with no issues.

 

My system:

 

LinuxMint 13 LTS 64bit (Ubuntu 12.04) playing Star Conflict through Steam

AMD Athlon X2 64bit 2.9Ghz Dual Core

4gb RAM

Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2gb VRAM using v331.20 drivers

 

Most maps/missions cause the crash.  Some don’t.  It seems to be map specific (regardless of game-mode or whether it’s PvP or PvE).  I log back into Star Conflict to find my ships are “Currently in battle” and I click “Yes” to “Rejoin battle in progress” and the map’s loading screen starts for about a second and then the game crashes again.

 

I’ve tried changing my resolutions, playing with Vsync, and altering various other settings but with the same results.

 

The following will cause the crash:

 

Crimson Haze (PVE Mission)

Thar. Iridium Shard (PVP)

Lava Spines (PVP)

 

The following will not cause the crash:

 

Processing Rig (PVE Mission)

The Tier 3 PVP Detonation Map; I cannot remember the name right now.

 

I looked into my game’s installation directory and could not find any log file or crash report (though there is a file called “crashreporter” that seems to be some kind of script or program).

 

For those who will troubleshoot this problem, I work a lot and will respond as soon as I can if there are some things I should do or some files I need to attach.

It happened to me also, but only when loading “THE SOURCE” map, it shows the map loading screen then it quits the game, and no mater how may times i try to reconnect when it asks “Return to Battle?” it happens again and again…

The log files are located in (on my ubuntu 14.04):

/home/username/.local/share/starconflict/logs

Unfortunately I cannot upload the logs because i have deleted them, because the folders were named with Aprils number “04” and thought they were old logs. But i will play untill i get the error again.

Exactly the same issue here.  had no problems with last version.

 

and about the logs, @wally00:

the log files in those “04” folders are actually “05” logs

I checked those logs but found nothing useful.

Hey there, as promised - we have located the problem that leads to crashes, it will be fixed in the next update (Thursday)
