I have no idea about who made it but it wasn’t one of the SC team. Ill ask to have it changed, sorry.
please do, especially if it is not true. that page is the very first thing everyone will find when trying to learn something about the game, like i did.
also, there are other refences on the same page suggesting that is possible.
for example, in section about Galactic Standards (GS) there is this:
How to get GS?
You can obtain GS is a few ways:
- Buy GS using “real” Money (by far the easiest).
- Exchange Credits for GS.
- Receive GS by completing Contacts missions.
- Receive GS from random looting at the end of a (PVE) mission or (PVP) Battle.
also, in section about Credits there is this:
What Do I need Credits for?
You will need Credits for the following:
- Buy Non-Premium Ships
- Exchange for GS.
- Upgrade MK1-MK2 Modules.
- Repair Non-Premium Ships.
( my emphasis )
Where did you find that text?
You quoted the link.
As to the wiki, it’s player written and mostly incomplete and outdated, don’t take it too seriously.

My bad, didn’t pay atention to the whole post.

Again, sorry and thanks for pointing that out. I told it to Antibus and it will be changed.

if that is the case, then you need to put up a warning or something. as it is hosted on official website it is automatically regarded as official information, so it is misleading. i do hope it is simply an error and that it is not on purpose, just to attract more buzz and players…

It is an error, that page was written by a no doubt well meaning but not so well informed player. As to a warning, I had even suggested:
They should just shut the wiki down IMO. They stopped supporting it months ago and outdated as it is yet linked from home page and launcher it is not exactly making a good impression.
The devs limit who can edit it, it’s not publicly accessible. Based on the revision history, it’s been that way since it was created two months ago.

It’s available for editing to any player, you just need to make an account. Go for it.
I wondered about that page. I asked the author to check it was correct but I hadn’t played for a while so didn’t just delete it. I’ll get rid of it.
That page is kind of a mess anyway, I’ll prolly move its content to various better places and decomission it.
Edit: done.

I guess we could do that, but really, doesn’t “wiki” imply that it’s publicly editable?

Not quite. You need the Magic Password to create an account. All you need to do is PM Akaurl for it though and he’ll send it to you, it’s not “limited”, just manual.
