Will this game ever be like a free roam sandbox game? That would be kick A–!!! or is only going to be instance and match based?

I thought it would be cool to roam each sector freely. Npc enemies around to fight and what not. Dock at different space stations in each sector. Etc.

I’m going to be honest - the gameplay isnt really set up to be free roam, just slapping free roam on the current mechanics would be pointless. A fulfilling free roam requires things like an economy, trading, missions/quests, RP aspects, basically - more to do than just shoot at other ships. Otherwise, whats the point? You can shoot other ships in lobby based matches.
