Flares and how useful they are

Hey guys,

I was playing PvP yesterday and noticed that when I have multiple missiles locked onto me, when I deploy the flares, they only remove one of the locks, instead of all of them.

Realistically speaking, both missiles should be fooled by the flares and leave me alone, due to the heat they’re giving away.

Is this an intended balance feature or could it be patched in future?

Cheers,

As far as I am aware it takes away all the missiles. But when someone fires an octopus at you, he doesn’t launch all 5 at the same time ,but in rapid succesion which may cause some of them to not get caught by your flares if you fire it too early.

Alright, I’ll be on the lookout today. Thanks for the reply.

you should also be aware that a guided torpedo is not being stopped by them neither an unguided missile.

Which means it only helps you in a few situations.

Unguided rockets do not provide sound notification or indication on hud.

They provide sound notification I believe, but that’s all.

Guided Jericho torpedo provides sound notification, unguided do not.

This.

For best effect, wait to release your flares until the last possible moment. This requires some practice, but vastly enhances their effective use in combat.

Flares Kill all tracking missles and even lock as far as i’m aware, i’ve launched octopuses at people that were all fooled by a single flare.
if you time it right, they are a lifesaver.

Flares are useless now, the reload time is too dam high.
