Inhibitor crystal firing range is 2750m, but it explodes 750m.
Currently inhibitor crystals have a module duration of 1.36 seconds and range of 750m, which is difficult to function properly as a module.
Perhaps the developer mistakenly wrote the description below at 2750m in the description below to 750m, and it seems to have applied 750m in the module.
I hope that developers can quickly check and correct errors.

Ugh, you have to fly near the crystal, if it gets further than 750m from your ship then it will explode, fly near it and it will go all the way, works as intended.

I agree that the wording should be more precise. It also confused me at first. The travel speed of the crystal is 550m and you have to fly with the crystal for the distance that it travels. If you move farther than 750m away from the crystal while it is traveling, then it explodes. The farther away you shoot it, the more damage it does on impact with the most damage being near the center. The range is 2750 so try to shoot it from that distance.
