Federation Gunship Builds/Playstyles?

I confess I dislike most of the ships I use and have never found any decent playstyle that I like. There are two attributes that I personally prefer, Firepower and mobility. And really the only ship types that have that emphasis are Federation Gunships and Covert Ops.

I recently got rid of my Swift Mk3 out of annoyance as I was hardly getting any kills with it. I have recently started a Gauss Tackler style for long range support in the Fox, but the only opponents I can get kills with easily are lone frigates and lazy fighters and it’s just not working for me.

So, any suggested builds or playstyles for T2-3 Fed gunships?

For T2… I can’t tell you, the only one is the Lynx mk2 and I find it pretty weak. Maybe if you buy the Joker (DLC) you could do fine.

Anyway, my commends are: Wolf with Rails and Wolf-M with Bubbles. Put 1 adaptative shield in the shield slot (and anything you like in the second slot in the WoldM). In the hull slot I put 1 kinetic resistance (for the wolf I put regent coating in the second slot.

With the Rails Wolf you can put anything on the ammo modifier. For CPU depending on your playstile and R2 implant, horizon/red scanner/proton wall. In engine you should use strafe implant or rotation implant (r5) depending on your taste, and 1 vernier and 1 catalyst in the engines (very good rotation good speed)

In the active modules I use the same on both ships: aiming overcharge, combat reboot, hull repair kit and particle purge.

I must say that EB is a must have on WolfM, sadly Wolf doesn’t have capacitor slot.

Well everything I said here is the build I use for hit and run fed gunships, playing like an interceptor at very close

range.

I saw a gameplay from an ESB player on the wolf-m, if I find it I will post it here.

I too, need a decent build for the Gunship (T3 Rank 9)

PS: I actually use Hull booster instead of Shield booster.

I use very similar build, except I do not use giga 2 since i rarely fly frigs, i use kinetic missiles and acceleration engine.

Sometimes i drop particle purge and get engine overcharge with 2d adaptive shield

I use kinetic missiles too, I’m just used to put the EM to all the ships because I mostly fly Gauss and Rails atm

I fly this beauty with double adaptative, regen coating and shield booster to particle purge non stop. Also, I switch CR for engine overcharge.

 

In the capacitor I have the speed one.

 

The idea is flying around at interceptor speed, perma afterburning and speed tanking while firing bubbles all around. I don’t need combat reboot since I use fed rank 8 implant, and the only time you will need CR in this ship is when you are tackled
