To earn credits in a legit manner, you can simply play the game. By flying a ship with a decent ‘reward bonus’ and the higher tier your can comfortably manage, you will make plenty of credits.
High tier PvE gives the most credits per match - fast/successful PvP gives the most credits per hour, depending on how good you are and what kind of efficiency rating you score.
I was invited to a farming “game” earlier, but quit after a couple of rounds, because:
a) It was boring, and against the spirit of the game, and
b) would appear to be breaking several game rules:
IV. Player behaviour in combat
6. The following items are prohibited in the game:
a) use of any software and / or hardware automation that allow for gameplay without the intervention of the player. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
b) use of any software and / or hardware automation to significantly simplify the gameplay. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
c) use of any software and / or hardware automation, that allows to assign a single key for more than one command. In this case, two of the same commands that follow one after the other, are considered different commands. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
d) use of vulnerabilities and / or errors of game mechanics to obtain unfair advantages. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
e) intentional infliction of damage to team members. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours. f) refusal to deal damage to the enemy. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
g) the issuance of allied ship’s location to the enemy. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours. h) avoiding combat without leaving the battlefield. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
i) refusal to fight against the members of the the player’s own corporation. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
j) any aid to the opposing team. Punished by blocking the account for 24 hours.
i was merely curious. i just saw a lot of people doing and didn’t understand…i was confused. don’t plan on cheating, thats a pretty bad assumption. knowledge for knowledges sake.
So how is “cowardice” enforced? And if players are farming, what’s considered farming? I’ve seen squads “forfeit” a battle to avoid death. I’ve seen players who man T4 ships sometimes, go to T2 with T2 ships. Obviously there’s a skill imbalance and it’s probably less about fun, and more about scoring for reputation.
My guess is the farming was a capture the beacon match, or detonation, where one team can win without any kills. Everyone gets credits, no one gets repair costs. Why those two? They’re the fastest to win!
