I tried logging in via steam, and I can’t. I restarted steam, and I can’t get into the game with steam. Using a gaijin registered account, i.e. the forums, I can get in.
Just to help the forum’s search, “Incorrect Steam account information” because let’s face it, the forum search sucks.

aah I was wondering what was up… unfortunately I don’t have a separate account. If I create one does that mean I will have to start from scratch ? In you know what Tier 1 ?

these connection issues are usually caused by steam and can only be fixed by steam, that’s why we always recommend to link a gaijin account to your steam account.
Error
Switch steam to offline mode, then launch game. You will be able to type login email and password and play.
