[F]Launcher destroys internet connection

So, i wanted to patch my game just now, but when it started downloading the files, all of a sudden my connection got weaker and weaker and then died. Closing the patcher didn´t work, so i restarted, tried again, same result. Restarted, waited for about 15 mins, tried agein, and yet again the launcher cut off the internet connection.

Is there anyone experiencing the same prob ?

There should be a connection tester in the game folder. Could you try to use it and report to me what this tool is saying.

As you can see in the log it is unable to create the ICPM socket that I am assuming it uses to download. Are you using a firewall. software or router? Need to unblock the ICPM messages or port forward.

It has worked before too. Also my Antivirus just said, Star Conflict contains malware. I don´t honestly know what to do now

It is probably a false positive, what antivirus do you use? I use ESET and I never get any warnings about Star Conflict - those free programs tend to give off false positives a lot.

I suggest turning off all firewalls and port forwarding (search the forum for the ports) then try again.

Avira Antivir.

I´ll inclure SC in the exceptions  Hpe that helps

Yes, that should help. If you would like to try a different antivirus I have installed Agnitum Outpost Security Suite free on several PC’s without issue, you even get free updates with your registration!

http://free.agnitum.com/

That comes with antivirus and firewall and will probably allow you to figure out what is wrong with your network.

mh, i´ll try my luck lateron

So i can´t download the game after i´ve deinstalled it.

I don´t know why, but the same error is still there.

Any words on this ?

Did you download and save the file? You should be able to re-install from the file you already downloaded, check your downloads folder.

I wish I could help you more but it seems like you need real support.

I downloaded the launcher, saved it and then installed it. All works well, until the launcher starts to connect to the StasConflict download server. My internet connection speed drops, then i´m loosing connection and can´t regain it without rebooting.

Windows firewall is down, ZoneAlarm is fine with Star Conflict. I think it might be something with the launcher, but i´m not sure.

I think it has something to do with your network, try disabling ZoneAlarm.

No one else has problems like this, otherwise the forum would be lit up as such.

Use the other threads in this forum section to find a solution to your problem, if disabling zonealarm doesn’t work I read that they are having problems with Wireless Lan so try using a hardwire (ethernet cable). If that doesn’t work try forwarding these ports:

Ports for the game/launcher/update server

80,443,27022,8090,6881,27032-27042,5222,3478-3480,7800-7802

I tried it with ZoneAlarm, and i´m already using ethernet cable, maybe it´s because my connection is weak in general (max DL is 120kb/s)

Did you forward those ports I mentioned?

I still don’t know if you are using a router, if so can you remove it from the equation and try again?

and it WAS my bad internet.

I´m at a friends and i can load it now.
