I click the icon to open the program and all that happens is i get a half second black screen and than the targem crash reporter pops up. I clicked on what is in the report and it gives me these three items.

Hello,
it seems that your game client is damaged, could you try to click the repair button and report if it solves the problem.
Error
I clicked the repair button and it said repair complete, i than pressed the play button and the same thing happened. I also noticed that the progress bar where the update progress is shown has about a cm of space left from being a full bar. Not sure if that is normal or not.

i am guessing here but have you run it as administrator?, try tweaking compatibility too ex: running as win xp, sometimes operating systems like to play us jokes.
