[F] Capping control points in Dreadnought scenario

After playing a lot of scenario games in T2 level ive noticed something is wrong with capping the beacons/control points in the dreadnought mission.

I very often am sitting right on top of the points and the blue beam shows up for a little while then disappears.

The control count then doesn’t move and i dont get credit for it being captured either. Im lucky if i get maybe 1 cap after the round.

Ive tried with both a fighter and frig but get the same result every time.

Normally i wouldn’t care much as long as the round clears eventually but seeing the beacon cap contracts react to the scenarios as well im loosing a lot of time struggling to get the caps when i know im always well within the 750m range for capping.

As soon as your ship takes damage th capturing stops and if your team captures the Beacon while the blue beam was off for a while you will not get the capture point.

Ok that explains a bit but that doesnt seem to be a fair part of game play.

The person drawing enemy fire and wacking everything that gets close wont get the cap while some who hides away just in range does get it?

Isnt it enough to be simply wacking all the red beams and making sure nothing gets close?

The current method might be good for PvP but in the PvE scenario you constantly have dozens of ships firing at you from all directions which then negates the effort you put in.

It is a teamwork mode. Even if you do not get the extra 300 points getting through to the next round is lore important. That is why you have 1-2 defenders/bait and 1-2 cappers.

If it were solely lore important then there would be no issue but like i mentioned above capping these control points count towards the contact goals.

Working as a team is of course key here with several roles as you point out but in this aspect the defender get punished for playing his role by loosing rewards.

I could see the dmg part being an integral part of capping but being part of the team doesn’t everyone who fulfills a crucial role deserve to at least get credit for the end goal of capping the control points?

If you are not capping you should get double or triple their stupid 300 score in kills.

Stop comlaining.

In scenarios i am always the fighter hunting enemies and I score highest, and I cap nothing.

(and also I give a xxxx about the score, just noticed it)

I really dont care about the score its about getting credit for capping beacons in contracts for the sub-factions.

This makes sense. However try asking your teammies to defend because you want contract points. 2/3 of the people I pug with say sure, cause they already got it.
