Not sure if this has been said before since i dont use the forums a lot but nothing is more annoying than watching your gold standards slowly shrink. It’s far to easy for your mouse to slip or you go on autopilot mode just like you do after every other game and quickly press the middle one except this time, “oops!” you slightly placed the mouse different and you try to move it in time before you let go of the mouse but unfortantly you were to late and there goes another 200+ gold standards that you will never see again.
Whether or not this was an intended design feature to aggrivate people or make them waste their gold standards so they will buy more, it just discourages even holding onto gold standards since they will most likely end up being spent with this silly method for something i currently don’t even need. There would be a simple fix to this and that would be to have a comfirmation box open up warning the player they are about to spend gold standards on this extraction process to aquire extra rewards. I don’t see why this wasn’t already in place given it envolves real money and is something that is thrown in your face on a daily basis, the chances of this happening to others is extremly high and should be a fairly high priority given how easy it should be to adjust and how it involves real money. if you think you can just avoid doing it all the time like i did think again, it only needs to happen once to be one time to many. It’s happened to me three times now so i figured i would at least bring the issue to light before it happens to many others that have decided to support this game.
Had i not earned my standards purely from playing overtime and instead payed real money i would have been much more upset and tried to look for some kind of refund since i generally only buy the exact amount of what i need. I had been considering buying the smallest pack to get just enough to purchase something i wanted but now i cannot even do that and to be honest i dont even want to spend a dime on this when it is so easy to lose it. I’m sure you wouldnt appreciate a few thousand dollars disapearing from your bank account every now and then because you accidently signed the wrong section for a form they give you multiple times a day.
tl;dr - Add a comfirmation box when extracting with gold standards so you cannot misclick and loose 200+ gold standards for nothing.
This game is heavily based on your ability to aim and mouse controls if you can not hit a huge box like that, well, maybe this is not the game for you?
Alrite, thanks for the honest reply Jacxis. I guess i will just leave it at that and hope they eventually do something about it.
It is less of an issue of how well you can aim your mouse and more of what kind of state your mind is in. Generally you are not as focused as you are in game when the battle is over and you mind might think for a split second that the far left one is the one you wanted by mistake. Also since its a very repetitive task it’s can be easy for someone to think less and act on instinct which can lead to mistakes. Don’t get me wrong i thought the same thing but over a long time and having whole extraction method change several times it is bound to happen to someone. Obviously it’s happening quite often if it has been brought up this much and that is just from people who have decided to say something about it.
Don’t you worry, it happens to all of us sometimes. Everytime the options are switched, we end up clicking where we don’t want to and alas, our GS is lost. That’s why I try not to keep it… LET THE CONSUMISM BEGIN!
Yea, usually i would just spend it all so that it would not be a problem for me but since i’ve been playing awhile it has sort of just gathered up into a pile and i guess i was just saving it for a rainy day, it is still sad to see it disapear slowly ever since they have made this new extraction process. I feel worse for people that actually spend money to support the game and save their gold standards for a rainy day only to have that unlucky day where they click the wrong one. It’s easy for this to happen multiple times over a few months.
You should have been here a couple of months ago, every time a “mayor” change happens, one of the things that change the most is the extraction, and yeah, sometimes it feels like it’s done on purpose. Want it or not, you end up being automated during the extraction phase, and that’s when the catastrophe occurs.
About your “saving for a rainy day”, nah, there’s nothing like that. Usually the sales are kinda bad, the synergy transfer rate always sucks and the only “good” sale we had was the one about discount in premium ships. All the others were awful.
I reccomend you to get a good license, and then purchase some premium ships (both to use them and to get the Fleet Strength bonus).
I came to a similar conclusion, its just a bad core design in general, or a good one depending on what angle you look at it. But with any company / business it’s generally good practice to keep the customer happy no matter how greedy you are for money.
Of course you don’t have to go to extreme lengths and compromises to serve every customers needs which ultimatly just gets abused by the people that take advantage of that.
That said i don’t think any of that applies for this issue and i like to hope that this was just poor implentation of a rushed out system that would intergrate the gold standards into gameplay more and encourage spending. This is still fine as long as those wishing to purchase the extraction know they are and not just by some accident because they were not paying attention for a split second.
How hard exacyly would it be for someone to look where they click? Basically when getting loot, always click middle option. Never click on middle button when upgrading gear. And voila, no standards lost.

Well, around 10 patches ago (can’t remember well), the middle option while extracting was the “pay with GS” option, and some patches before that, it was in another position. If they (the devs) leave the extraction UI as something fixed and stop moving the options around just to mess our GS-wallet, it would be great.
Oh, i see, i remember that one, you paid GS to get an increased chance to loot something right? But i mean, it has been a while now this actual loot system. And although i agree with you that keep moving the buttons is bad, that doesnt justifies the auto-brain clicking on everything. Would you blame the city for changing the way of a road if you got in the wrong hand even though there were plates telling you about the change?

I’m not referring to that extraction of items, I’m referring about the one between that and the actual one. I’m pretty sure in the next mayor patch, the UI will change yet again.
It’s not like we are trying to click the left one, it happened to me again just before and i realized what happened this time. Say when your extracting and you have three in a line up close in a cluster horizontally. Now you have already decided you will just pick these three since it’s pretty much random anyway and you decide to start with the far right one. Now since you’ve been doing this for awhile or your running low on time your gonna be in a bit of a hurry and your pretty much going to be clicking on the next extraction to get what will most likely be some scraps and a few extra credits.
You extract the first one in no time and as always it’s some scraps, you quickly move the mouse to the second. As you finish extracting that one you move to the third one and in your haste have already started extracting it. But what’s this, the second one was slightly delayed and decides to reward you with some purple upgrade kits but because these three were so close together and you decided to go from right to left your mouse is now positioned squarly over the purchase with gold standards section and your finger has already clicked the mouse to extract the third one. You try not to let go so you can slide the mouse off but it’s to late and you are instantly filled with regret, partly because of your own stupidity, partly because you will never see those gold standards again.
The same has happened the reverse just as many times and purchased the kit outright with credits for something you may not need. This is just one instance of misclicking and i’m sure there are many others. By no means are people intentionally not clicking the middle one but the way it’s set up seems to encourage going fast and having a highchance of clicking either of the outside two if you happen to not be paying attention. It’s is easy to say just go slower and pay attention but sometimes that just doesn’t happen and when your rushing to get into the next battle these things can happen. It’s not so bad if you click the right one although it still stings your wallet, but when you are dealing with real money it’s pretty much required to have some kind of confirmation to avoid any mistakes happening. I’m fairly sure even the purchases with gold standards for paint and modules even come with comfirmation windows so then why does this not.
It seems like people are so eager to make witty comments and tell everyone to just not click the wrong one but it’s not that simple and no situation you compare this to is remotely related to how this system works. Just remember not everyone is the same and this is going to happen to other people regardless of how some people might tackle this issue, wouldn’t it be nicer if we could just agree that something should be done in the near future about this issue so that new and old players who are supporting the game by purchasing gold standards don’t get into annoying situations like these.
My gold has gone my the way side, I was watching closely and not clicking the gold and not using the gold repair parts and I went from 3040 gold to 1599 from one log off to the next log on. I was saving my gold for premium days and this is not a very nice feeling, I will not be buying anything till this is fixed with a conformation warning before spending gold.
