Extend allowed rank range in combat slots

We currently have 3 tiers, however outside of Capture the Beacons we cannot fly ships with more than 3 ranks of difference. I suggest to allow flying ships of 4 ranks difference in combat slots.

I keep suggesting a 4-rank matchmaking system.

But first, what is the purpose of this limitation?

I suggest that you remove the minimal rank limit.

Do we have -in effect- tiers:

t1 : ranks 1-5

t2 : ranks 6-10

t3 : ranks 11-15

This aspect still help much with matchmaking, to create fights more balanced. It’s possible to change with MM system, and we’re looking into it.

I already see tons of newbies complaining in gen. Chat about how they dont like and wonder why they are facing 4 ranks over theirs. Even though they get hp buff. So i dont see how your proposition would be helpful to the game. Many just quit the game facing r9 in their r5. That “increased tier range” is more than enought. Though was required for better mm.

I might have got it wrong. What would be the use of sloting r6 with r10? r3 with r7? High rank already are flyable with top ranks(r10 already get in with r15)… While pve is r11-15…weirdly.

Enlighten me if neccessary.

But my proposition is not about tiers or  MM or anything related - it’s about slots. Currently if you slot R11 and your highest ship in slot is R15 you cannot fly R11 except in Capture the Beacons mode.

Simple: some ships have unique abilities. For example: Gargoyle is awesome Vigilant killer, but if my wingman is flying Saw One I have to take R15 in slot as well, which means my Gargoyle will be unusable  in all modes except Capture the Beacons. Quick analysis shows that range of 4 ranks would allow players for more flexibility. It’s not that visible in lower tiers, however I know some people prefer to fly Ghost in the mid tier, due to resists and dmg boost.

What does that change? 

 

We are asking that when we play a specific MM level, we can use ALL the ships within that level. 

The fact that r11 face r15 won’t change.

And i didn’t had though about the tactical advantage it can bring. You proposition now sound much better to my ear.

The same BS apply to PvE/Spec Ops.
You can’t use a ship(s) to low(especially with a wingman) b/c of this ridiculous rule, that bring nothing and is contrary especially anti-newbie.

I think in PVE it’s make to avoid, for example, players with rank6 ships squad with players with rank10 ships. So higher rank players pact to carry on lower rank players.
