Considering how fast GeneInari’s engie was, I don’t think it’s that much of an issue. Of course you don’t go rushing in alone.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you can fly Fed engies as though they’re fighters, right? I’m still in the process of studying the videos and learning.
fly them as fighters: thats what they all say but its not true, if u play like a fighter u die. You have extremely low rotation speed compared to a fighter, not to mention theres always a joy of killing weak frigates, fed engies are fast, but not fast enough, and not tanky enough, they can be easily taken down if u cant pilot it properly. Seems to me everyone is in operation:anti-frigate people ALWAYS gang up on frigates expecially the ones that dont have much health, like LRFs and fed engies.

Fed engies tend to have a fair number of engine slots so I thought it would be possible to stack vernier engines. Would quick strafing runs help? Rush in, shoot enemies, duck back into cover, then come out again?
And don’t forget I have 2x Adaptives+Gigas II. So while it doesn’t show, just pretend there’s an extra 100+ (43+43+12 for each lock-on) resists on everything when I’m at full speed with someone locked onto me, moreso when playing bait with 4+ locks. So I have all the tank of a Styx with several times the mobility.

When I’m trying to tie up smaller craft for my drones/teammates to take out or otherwise zip around cover, yes. At 70-ish Roll and 60 Pitch, it’s comparable to a fighter with a Galvanized Hull on it. Otherwise I’m just flying straight for raw distance coverage back to friendly territory.
The build is super vulnerable to tacklers or any sort of speed debuff, but so is any Fed ship running adaptives. There’s also an immense fun factor to this build. AB’ing constantly while able to turn and maneuver while getting shot at by 6+ ships and surviving is an absolute thrill.

Hence the hull repair kit, I assume. But it has the longest cooldown, which makes it harder to trigger the F8 implant. Would the hull resist mod be better?
There was a [thread](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/23119-which-is-best-for-fighters%E2%80%94nanocomposite-coating-or-repair-kit/) that discussed Nanocomposite’s resist buff and the Repair Kit’s heal and repair kit is just plain better between the two.
Yes the cooldown is long, but the clutch hull restoration is too much to pass up. Besides, Nanocomposite would only be useful to me when I’m already debuffed and without my adaptives, otherwise I’m stacking a weak resistance buff on to of already massive adaptive resists.

This is my love and and hate it version of the VALOR
Love it for the speed hate it for being paper thin. The Achilles heal is that it so BIG anybody should be able to keep a steady aim on it with a slow beam.

It is paper because you chose plains resists over adaptatives. Also that rotation must be painful!
You don’t need auxiliary generator to have awesome speed numbers. In fact, if you’re searching for speed you should change that battle microchips booster for the military CPU or thrusters overdrive.
This is how I fly mine, when I do:
Extra acceleration to catch up my max speed fast after I’m disabled or I crash into something. Fairly high rotation so I can turn properly when needed. The 2 adaptatives gives 86 resist to everything, so I put plain hull. I use Gigas II so resistances are always high, there’s no need of a galva or anything like that. You can change Gigas II for Cheetah II if you want more speed and less resistances.
The proton wall is because of ECMs obviously, but you can change it for something else depending on your weapon. Octopus because I find torpedoes too dangerous, I end up killing myself too oftem. I don’t like the cheap drones and the guided torpedo is annoying and not that useful. I usually save Octopus to help the team to bring down the hated Styxes.
