Basically, I feel that the ability to shut down a ship completely, even for a short amount of time, is OP in my opinion, and once the effects have ceased, you only have so much time to do anything before you’re destroyed. What’s also unfair is that this is pretty much the only class of ships that can perform such actions, while others have little to no abilities like that of an ECM (taking ion-beam warhead missles into consideration). I think either the abilities need to be decreased, or the ECM needs a bit of a rework, cause if there’s a player that’s good in an ECM, it’s all downhill from there.
Well there was some promising conversation about it a while ago, tempting the remake of the class to make it more “active” instead of stun-spam. There would be one module for engines, one for weapons, one for modules, and so on.

Rather than nerf ECM, I think a multipurpose or CPU module should be introduced that acts as an ECCM. Or, perhaps create a new Command Fighter module or Engineer Frigate Module that “boosts” friendly sensor strength within a radius of itself. reducing the duration of ecm effects or granting immunity at a cost of another feature, like lock time, sensor range, etc.
And yes, I take inspiration directly from EVE Online.

They didn’t do anything bad. This isn’t Eve online. this game doesn’t have to match eve in everything it does. ECM in this game works as it is intended to work in this game.

i love ECMs but indeed may be it need some rework on it .
atm with some buils , we can run an ECM tanky , flying pretty fast , and strong dps . if we add also new weapon …yep the ECM seems a bit OP
my opinion , if we have to nerf ECM its not the ability ( module ) but some nerf some ECM ships stat.
its the same matters with covers ops.
in other way , now players don’t play really the class of a ship . for exemple its commons to see Gard without all specific module to counter those ships ( only regen shield or self healing ) , the same with command when player forget to buff players in action , no active module on to keep the energy
