ECM ship's stun ability: useful or not?

I recently tried the ECM ship (the Dagger) and tried the stun ability. It seems… kinda useless. I guess I can see it being devastating if you have a well-coordinated team but in regular public matches the stun just seems too short to make an impact.

 

 

In T3 it’s indeed useful, tbh the best ability of an ECM imo by far, and in T4/5 I think it lasts longer, so I guess there is good too.

It lasted a little longer before and it was OP, everybody was running just ECM in higher tiers. It is still essential for taking down lights and mediums, and very dangerous.

I agree it is not the most useful thing, more often than not it is a suicide module(You cast it, you die because 4 enemies are waiting for you)

Me neither, it’s too easy to time the shot to kill the ECM, it’s only useful when u have a an Engi near tu you healing hard with stations or purple auras…

People use it wrongly to survive when ganged… use it near beacons or other tactical situations where stunning the enemy will grant your allies an advantage.

As far as attacking goes, use sharpnel to gain advantage of stunned enemy

Don’t expect to survive with it in enemy swarm when your team isn’t around. A correctly timed missle/singularity shot can easily one-hit you 

“Is this useful” is a wrong question. Ask “how do i use it to its full potential?”

or when you use it offensively while harassing enemy beacons in Capture the beacon mod, or in Beacon hunt/domination, or when you draw an attention of 4-5 enemies on your xxxx for 6 seconds, while it takes only 1 shot to die. It is not iWin button, but it has its uses

Indeed, imho ECM best capt ship, fast, tanky, can disable the attackers, and can protect itself for a few seconds while your team clean your enemies and you get healed.

 

 

 

And as Kostyan said, it can be also useful in beacons, they can’t interrupt your beacon hunt, and you will AoE stun them. But meh, I would like to see something like, instead of the stun, your whole screen turns blurry and you can’t see xxxx for a few seconds. It would be interesting tho.
