Please fix the assist rewards for ECM, since it just doesn’t pay of anymore. Especially in higher tiers where ships never get killed you never get rewarded for disabling, effects just don’t stay “on” long enough to force a kill assist.
-recon: Spydrones stay on long enough to get assist, and can steal shields so the inty actually has a good change to kill some himself and scores well in matches
-covert: has awesome killing capabilities and scores well in matches
-ECM has no methode of increasing it’s damaging capability in a fast way, only has a chance in a 1vs. 1 situation maybe where the weapon system inhibitor makes any sense (how often does that happen with an inty) Therefore, ECM always end up on the bottom of the list, so few bother to play it while it sure can be usefull.
Sometimes, winning is more important than where you are on the list. I almost always play my ecm interceptor in detonation. Sometimes im in the top 5, sometimes in the bottom. Important thing is that I do my job and that we win.
Just a n00b question? Does it matter to be in the top or on the bot of the list?
Top of the list = more money.
I can see how some people with only a few hundred games would think that the ECM ship not being great. The ECM can 1v1 any fighter and your abilities are on short CDs. The utility that the ECM brings is bar none better utility than the other two at any point of the game. But then some could say “I can kill frigates alone with my Covert Ops” yes you can and only when your plasma arc is up. “But hey i can out dps any other ship other than LRF with Orion’s mod” but yeah that is for 10 sec" then you do nothing and just run around doing bare minimal damage and wait for your CD’s to come back up. The covert ops role is a “Captain Killer” role and has very selfish applications to use other than white noise. No buffs, 1 debuff if your running it whereas the ECM has the all around utility kit for the team. Stasis, Ion beam, Energy drain that have very friendly CD’s now and all that help out the team to take down targets.
They need to fix weapon inhibitor to affect the target in a way that it reduces all damage it puts out instead of just to the ECM ship putting the debuff out to make it much more viable.
Indeed, I stop 9/10 EMP bomb plants… either by stopping them before they get there, or disabling them when they are about to fly around the corner, this making them go forward instead and stopping the bomb count entirely. I know its frustrating as hell when it happens to me, so when I do it to 1 person 4 times in a match, its no wonder they decide to chase me down as far as they need to in order to kill me

Isn’t winning always more important ? My point is Merc needs to make a buck as well for doing teamjob… :learn:
I was all about Covert Ops until I went to a 1 v 1 room with another player and got totally shallacked by him in his ECM, Now I find it even more enjoyable to play then any other inty. I score a bit lower then I would like but I sure have fun playing it
