Dreadnaughts *yay*

Ok, so for those that are a bit behind on news, go to the news section and watch the video in the post “2014 in review”. It contains many cool scenes and pictures from the year and is really quite nice.

For this post’s topic, I must say I am very pleased to announce (unofficially) the arrival of dreadnaughts!!! In the video they show 4-5 very nice teaser shots of the new dreadnaughts and I am not disappointed. Apparently, you will be able to fly around your Dreadnaught in the “shipyard” where it is manufactured, maybe just to check it out and bask in its epicness. Also they showed a very short clip of a Dreadnaught in combat. It’s main cannons seem to be some sort of large beam or something. This also means that Koro (or Efefay?) was right about the procedure. In the clip, it shows the Dreadnaught firing its tri-cannon off-screen, while ships swarm about its hull firing at their own targets. So there will be massive Dreadnaught fights while the little people scurry about in between them. X3

I am overjoyed at this addition and just know that it will be very fun! If I find anything else, this topic will be the first to hear, so keep watch!

Here are some pics of a dreadnaught in action:

Jericho:

Unknown so far.

The empire looks very imperial like, but the fed… it is like they bought it from the Gallente in Eve. At least they could have changed the color palette!!

Both are cool though.

Looks cool

I agree, the Feds does look a bit familiar. Atm it looks like it would be a better alien dread than a fed one. It still looks epic though. >w<

No known concept art for Jericho Dreadnaughts. I found these on KaranaK’s deviantart gallery: http://karanak.deviantart.com/gallery/

Omg two of my favourite things…

Tho I’m not so sure some of that is suitable for a forum of this age-range. XP

Fed Design and Color Scheme reminds me way more of Serenity’s Alliance ships (grey-blue) of the movie; but it has it’s own style. I like it.

Can’t be really Gallente, since it isn’t ugly, greenish and overrounded enough.

I am quite interested how the Jericho one will look like, since their design works way better for mid sized ships. A giant Triangle?

The very sad part is that these designs were uploaded in 2012.  Yet the dreadnoughts do not look like these very detailed designs.

Yeah, cause it has been officialy announced 12 days ago :

Lol. In a site announcement that you have to *try* to get to.

And plus, they didn’t have pictures. Pictures make everything cooler.

Indeed, they didn’t have pictures.

Jericho is a lopsided defiler

You thinking of some kind of massive Inquistor type ship?

Some may think they look more badass on the pictures, but for sure they will also look awesome in game and bring some pew pew.

I certainly hope so. I would hate to have wasted all of my artifacts donating for iridium…

Hope there will be a way to bring them to a special PVE mode too.
For example a mode where the whole team controlls that thing, one player controlls the movement and the rest uses the guns…basically “Guns of Icarus - Dreadnought style”

Start the game with a preformed group, chose who controls what, pick your weapons and those things, and destroy everything with it
