Does Recueing actually do something?

Well everybody does it, u sit in cue and dont get a pop and you start over. But does it actually make u get a game faster?

From my experience, it has worked on occasion. Requeueing after 5+ minutes in queue sometimes gets you a game, but I have a feeling had you waited the extra minute or two without requeueing you would’ve gotten a game in the same amount of time. I know if you have your region preference set to a specific region, requeueing will make it more likely you will get that server region, because when you requeue, it starts its search in that region, however, this will most likely increase your wait times significantly.

I don’t know anything solidly though, these are all speculations.

i have had it work on occasions but i can’t be sure that it’s because i was about to land in a match anyway

It sure seems to work. If I don’t have a match within 2 minutes I cancel and re-que and I almost always get one within 10 seconds.

Than again as starcoaster said “was I about to get a match anyway?”

Oh well, Makes me feel like I’m doing something either way…

On a side note I’ve also found if I start browsing my armory or ships it has the same effect. lol

maybe it’s like one of those placebo effects.

I have been in queue for 7 minutes before and requeued and got an instant launch. So yes. Coincidence? I think not!

Sometimes the queue get’s blocked imo, so requeuing helps.  Usually 3-4 minutes is a good time to requeue in my experience.

Yes. I like placebos. They have quite an effect on me.

We don’t know enough about the inner workings of the matchmaker to say one way or the other. However, comments made by Error and others suggest there could be some value to it.
