DLC reputation bonuses now as reputation is obsolete

reputation was used to rank up your main faction. now that that no longer applies, the fair thing to do on their end is replace it with the new thing that does ie. synergy

GS compensation is in order as well because it wasn’t addressed at patch release and required a community manager to actually forward the oversight.

I might just add that the replaced value MUST be higher than what it was before.

Reputation used to unlock multiple ships within a faction. Synergy only unlocks ONE ship at a time hence

+10% Reputation =/= +10% Synergy

I say +30% would be a closer exchange rate between the two

Here here Kine. Not just an increase in Synergy gained, but also the ability to transfer Synergy to Free Synergy on your Premium Ships (without having to pay Gold Standards). I should not be asked to pay more real life money when I have already spent that up front. I spent money on the DLC packs to progress a system that now no longer exists. Gold Standards prior to this patch were used for what:

  1. Premium licenses

  2. Booster mods

  3. Stickers

  4. Premium Ships

  5. Increased chance at looting

  6. Premium weapons, mods, passives, etc.

  7. 4th hangar slot

  8. Starting a Corporation

Now you are adding another variable which is Synergy transfer. Seems to me that you should either be offering more Gold Standards in those packs, or you should be reimbursing people a fixed amount of Gold Standards to compensate for this offset. By adding a new variable for which Gold Standards are to be used, you have diminished that value of Gold Standards in those packs, and inflated the value of Gold in the economy.

Since reputation gave access to ALL ships of that rank.  Reputation bonus was worth 4 times as much as the synergy bonus, since we will have to level each one.  The only real fair conversion rate would be 40% synergy gain.

(Really just shows how grindy broken your game has become)

This is in response to a question about DLC bonuses stacking and the functionality of these bonuses to reputation and loyalty post-patch 0.9.0

In addition:

Which lead to the following response:

I trust this sufficiently answers the questions in regards to the DLC bonuses.

it gave loyalty boost before the reputation was worth less than nothing. How is that an argument the DLC boosts are still worth as much?

And indeed synergy needs a massive boost if it is to be on the same level as the reputation boost.

Why was this concern not thought of from a design perspective before the change? Also, why wouldn’t you change the wording immediately? In the business they call the use of false or misleading statements in advertising  false advertising.

actually at this point its bait and switch and probably illegal in most countries…

so the question is, do we lawyer up or do we get a fix or at least some type of timeline for a fix

I am merely providing the requested information, I never provided any argument in favor or against the value of these bonuses.

Given that the game is currently undergoing heavy balance changes, tweaks and other fixes - I reserve judgement on this until things are in a much more defined state.

Your feedback is useful though - and highly valued.

I know it wasn’t your arguement. But it sounded like that was their statement.

I know the Dev’s will address it. Whether or not it will be satisfactory to the community as a whole will be the determining factor on what everyone should do from there.

Considering transferring synergy costs cash, and a synergy bonus means jack xxxx to me.

As for calling a lawyer, read the long EULA.  A lot of it’s invalid.  Launching the program and then not accepting counts as accepting?

By installing the Product (client), and/or completing the related registration and accessing the Game, downloading, storing, loading, installing, executing, displaying, copying the Product into the memory of a computer or otherwise benefiting from using the functionality of the Product in accordance with the Documentation (_ «Operating» _), you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

The problem with software purchases under current law…

The Gaijin and/or its suppliers own and retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Product, including without limitations any error corrections, enhancements or other modifications to the Software, whether made by the Gaijin or any third party, and all copyrights, patents, trade secret rights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights therein.

And beware, installing Star Conflict on your laptop and desktop is banned!!!

You may Operate one (1) copy of the specified version of the Product, for Personal Use only, on a single Client Device.

Can someone find one of my rights listed?  Other than playing the game, but that can be taken away on a whim.

3.4 No Transfer of Rights. Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, you may not transfer or assign any of the rights granted to you under this Agreement or any of your obligations pursuant hereto.

Try a lawsuit, see what happens!

If any provision of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, void, or unenforceable for any reason, in whole or in part, such provision will be more narrowly construed so that it becomes legal and enforceable

I’m just picking out decent points, but most EULA’s are full of bull xxxx, “the Gaijin” is just following their lead.  Governments do need to deal with the issue better.

EULA and Terms & Conditions documents have been thrown out of court before because “clicking a button doesn’t prove they read it”. Admittedly, that works best against larger companies who produce a ToS document the length of a small novel, but you could probably win any and every court case by hooking the company representative up to a lie detector and asking “do YOU read those things?”

I trust this sufficiently answers the questions in regards to the DLC bonuses.

Thank you, it does answer it and clears up how it now works.

I do agree with some of the complaints in this topic about the bonus now being slightly less useful (useful, but not to the same extent) than the bonus that was initially sold in the packages.

The concerns were forwarded and are being looked into.

I cannot currently comment on what (if anything) will happen exactly, but please be patient.

The situation is being monitored closely and where required, it will be balanced to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience.

Reputation bonus = loyalty bonus.

ATM, I have 1020 loyalty for 1-level contract.

I have premium account and two DLC’s with 10% reputation bonus each, so:

1020 = 600 (original) + 50% + 10% DLC1 + 10% DLC2 = 600 * 1.7 = 1020.

v0k you are talking about loyalty, not reputation. And with all non-pirate DLC you will have 1080 per lvl 1 contract.

v0k you are talking about loyalty, not reputation. And with all non-pirate DLC you will have 1080 per lvl 1 contract.

I’m talking that reputation means loyalty novadays (for DLCs).

And yes, you are correct, with 3xDLC by 10% bonus each you get 600*1.8=1080 points of loyalty. Which is still in line with my words:)

As some1 pointed out, rep was replaced with synergy for levelling

A fair exchange imo would b to give those packs a bonus to the amount of synergy generated as ’ free’ synergy at the end of each fight. 5% per pack would probly b enough.

This gives us a very similar bonus as it allows us to level all ships (not just the ones we fly) without spendin GS to convert it. It makes more ‘free’ synergy than a straight synergy bonus would generate

I would like to know if anything is happening with regards to this issue, or if it has been ignored

tyvm

bob

The issue has been thoroughly ignored. Instead of making it a loyalty bonus, they chose to ignore it. Care to guess why?

“Platinum VIP”.  Permanent 10% bonus to loyalty and ships synergy gain *  — Become the leader!

Atleast look at the DLC before saying that :stuck_out_tongue:

It was changed at the same time the changes were introduced, Steam just took a few days to update the descriptions.

This issue was resolved a long time ago.
