I agree with what Nuke is saying. Too much emphasis is being put on releasing Destroyers (which as they sound right now, do not fit into this game at all, and will break the gameplay for most people), and not enough (if any) emphasis on fixing game-breaking issues that already exist within the current client (many of which have existed for months without any response or acknowledgement from the devs.
I too, like Nuke, will quit this game if what Destroyers are turning out to be holds true. This game isn’t BrickConflict (I like that one nightmare), this game has always revolved around fast-paced gameplay (and the devs have even encouraged fast-paced gameplay by reducing battle times and added joining in progress), but Destroyers are going to completely ruin that. Like Kosty said, how these destroyers will function is a completely alien mechanic for this game, and is a mechanic that will have had absolutely zero prep work in the client done when released (by this I mean no significant mechanic improvements or gamemodes will have been introduced to ease us into this new playstyle and to test it out).
So I give my feedback to you devs:
-Rework how Destroyers are going to function
-Ensure it will be extremely difficult to successfully destroyer-ball (while still keeping destroyers functional and useful).
-Be sure the grind for Neodium and w/e other materials will be required is reasonable (reasonable for a free-to-play player without a license and who spends a couple hours a day at most in this game).
These next two are probably the most important suggestions I will offer on this matter:
-Advertise Season 3 heavily. Get it featured on Steam, put some ads up on the internet. This is a fantastic opportunity to increase your playerbase all over the world, Don’t squander it like you did with Seasons 1 and 2. Take advantage of it like you did when the game was first released on Steam over 2 and 1/2 years ago.
-Ensure that these Destroyers are thoroughly tested, and that you actually listen to your supertester feedback. This means hear what they have to say, and change things (or not) only if the majority of your testing community agrees with the changes. This also means thoroughly inspect Destroyers for any bugs or issues they may cause in the client, and fix them BEFORE you release, not after. It also means that if any bugs or issues impossible to find on the testing server appear on the client, address them IMMEDIATELY. Do not let them reside in the game for months before even acknowledging them. If people report bugs or problems associated with Destroyers, fix them ASAP, and let the playerbase know you are doing so.
I certainly have high hopes that you will release a good patch come Season 3, as I would love to have Destroyers become functional and fit within this game well, but I don’t see that happening based on this initial information. Please prove me wrong come 1.3.0.
