Sometime, Only one player can be a Nightmare for some squad.
Zapp:
“Call me cocky, but if there’s an alien out there I can’t kill, I haven’t met him and killed him yet. But I can’t go it alone. That’s why I’m ordering every available ship to report for duty. Anyone without a ship should secure a weapon and fire wildly into the air.”
There is no “we” here in this argument, I was referring to YOU specifically as an individual.
the ‘we’ is referring to the masses complaining about the looting system… and the gear imbalances… and the ecm spam… yea… they are masses, you just don’t see them.
And ZEIK is 100% correct - there are people who don’t wish to learn how to work as a team, they’re looking for a cheap thrill and instant gratification experience. Our dismay is with the fact that the game slowly but steadily starts to cater for these people - and it’s not why we decided to play this game in the first place.
that’s understandable. the game shouldn’t cater to a FFA experience, but it should certainly accommodate it to some degree.
however, that really isn’t the issue here… so i don’t see what the problem is…
I’m confused as to where you acquired this magic number of 60%. My point was that if, to use an example of users who are countering your arguments, Zap, ZEIK and myself would form a squad against you specifically and your friends - we’d beat you comfortably and consistently with equal or even lower levels of equipment.
of course you would. nobody in their right mind would ever debate that. experience counts for something.
but abuse of broken mechanisms would also be rampant, and there are many of them, some of which i’m still not familiar with yet.
they should start by fixing some of those: cheap tactics that aren’t quite working as intended and breaking game modes.
if you’re curious about the number, i pulled it out of a black hole…
Why? Because we have more experience and know how to use teamwork. And that’s a squad which hasn’t even flown together before.
do i really need to be told this?
This has nothing to do with being elitist or cocky - it’s the cold hard truth and a counter to your argument that the only reason you are losing is better equipped squads. Don’t blame your tools, blame your current attitude towards teamwork and the current game mechanics.
the cold hard xxxx? lol… sorry i just had to laugh. i have a tendency not to take matters seriously when they’re so obvious as this…
look, the problem here is this, and i’ve said it before:
an experienced squad will still beats other most of the time. but if you also give them better gear, they will beat others ALL of the time… simple…
if you hear people complaining about ‘fairness’ it’s because of these imbalances.
ie: you don’t make a competitive PVP game by giving some users power over others. it isn’t an enjoyable experience for them. for PVE games its fine, or open-world… but not for PVP… players should be on equal or roughly equal footing.
The 60% is probably cooldown reduction on one of the more obscure modules (repair kit or something). Disregarding cooldowns, the actual difference between Mk1 and Exp is approximately in the 10-15% range.

please… check your numbers carefully…
weapons have a 15% DPS increase, almost all other modules have a 75% increase.
again, just modules… this doesn’t include the extra slots, extra weapons not available to lower ranks, extra missiles, extra implants, better ammo, etc…

Wanna speak about the Liquid metal injector? that you can’t use before have the MK3.

pretty sure you can use it before mk3. its available on my R7s, currently testing an emerg shield boost on a guard, Mk2.

Please be so kind and offer some specific examples.

The emergency shield boost have a better natural MK1 cooldown than the Liquid metal injector (6 min CD mk1)
Please be so kind and offer some specific examples.
just about any active modules (maybe even all), and most passives. haven’t checked mods, but most likely it’s the same.

oh that… you mean same as the repair kits? yea… i always found that kind of… strange…

That is not a specific example. If it’s “just about any”, you should have no trouble demonstrating how you arrived at 75% with one specific example. I want to understand your reasoning there.

Guard have special and dedicated regen module, Emergency shield booster and Metal liquid injector.
Compare to the others regen module (Usable by each kind of ships) they are litteraly better but have a monstrous cooldown.

every mod. is that specific enough? with some exceptions… it really doesn’t matter which one you pick…
i suggest you open your equipment panel, look at your items, and do some math. having a pen+paper helps.
some people require the use of a calculator as well, to figure out for example that 35 from 20 is a 75% increase.
some people can’t even manage that however… and need somebody to do it for them.
I’m guessing the 20->35 example is the target painter, and as such certainly an outlier in effectiveness increase – as I assume you know, hence the snarkiness.

it was a random example to illustrate 75%, if it happens to be target painter, then that is the case…
i tested tons of mods… you can’t tell me it’s an outlier…
You want a good exemple of the difference between Mk1 —> Expe module?
Metal Liquid Injector MK1 6 min Cooldown
Metal Liquid Injector Expe 75 secondes Cooldown
It’s enough for you?
Metal Liquid Injector MK1 6 min Cooldown
Metal Liquid Injector Expe 75 secondes Cooldown
lol, now that’s an outlier, but that was funny
If they don’t stop the squad size reduce, they would be pretty silly. It is an absolutely terrible idea.
Why even bother asking us to collect feedback from the community if you’re then going to ignore it and do the exact opposite?
Am I wasting my time here? Who are you actually trying to please here? You’ve completely misread your analytical research in regards to your consumer behaviour, you’ve misread their feedback and you’ve completely misunderstood what your consumer base wants right here, right now. Whomever is making these decisions needs to come and actually talk to some of the people in this community and get some real feedback.
Unfortunately, games that have potential seem to trend this way more often. Basic ship hulls that you can customize however you want and put any types of modules on to truly make the ships customizable? We’ll strike that and make set ships classes so everyone knows what you’re packing. Ability to use a large array of weapons on any ship I want to fly the way I want to fly it? Nah, strike that and make a max of four weapon choices. On top of that, lets take away ammo types that allow different types of damage because we wouldn’t want people not to know exactly what’s being shot at them. In space, should I really know if a fighter was going to be packing “tackler mods” or “command mods” or “gunship mods”? In my opinion, no. I should just see a blip of relative size to the craft from my scanner and I wouldn’t know what he’s packing. Maybe that’s aside from the point. All I know is this game had so much potential when they gave us choices. But, instead of giving us more choices with each patch, every “improvement” in the last number of patches has, in my opinion, been a limitation of options to level the playing field between experienced and nonexperienced players - which again, seems to defeat the purpose of advancing in the game at all, if we’re never going to be allowed to excel from our hard work and hundreds of hours of gameplay.

You’ve been around for a while, haven’t you?
