It is only that much along the horizontal plane on a broadside of the desstroyer, it drops off to 1/10th of it depending on the arc. Plus not that many maps allow for clear skies at such ranges. It is great at screwing up cloaked LRFs though

1.5x is not enough for the risk you have imho. you barely notice it, and most likely, the dessie wins, as it has enough buttons to instapop you

 

3x was probably a bit too easy for the broken gun builds, even if it felt fine with most standard weaponry, as chances to get that close in a “working team” were pretty slim in a harder match, but the average destro was easy to kill. and also, the 3x damage was in times where we had overdamaging thargoids, so all those who fear the 3x should remember, the other stuff got nerfed too - at least a bit.

 

imho 2x - so 200% - would be fine and ideal, with crits adding up instead of multiplying again (so that a crit with e.g. +75% damage results in 275% instead of 350%)

You’re forgetting destroyer’s hitbox though ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)  150% was low because its only 50% damage boost. If you deal 3500/hit with a singularity its 5250 with 150%, that isn’t enough with your average dessy depending on type hull/shield. I support 200% %, with 7000 hit you can really cause some damage, that’s per hit. I don’t support 10500/hit that’s too much.

No destroyer should have a beam cannon, more so if it causes damage/sec with no counter. 5644/hit at 90 RPM is just broken. You’re a massive ship, with low ping and skill of a beam you cannot get away from this weapon. Secondary reason I dropped to T4. Tired of getting camped by this gun. 

Besides this is just an upgrade to the destructor! They deemed it too OP for guards. I support guards having good ol’ destructor back, it helped in beacon modes.

Again, that much of dmg is only happening in a specific cone of fire, this is more of a “maximum” potential dmg rather than the dmg the outputs, because if you use “elevation” (lol elevation in space) you can avoid most of that dmg even if you get hit.

If anything Vigi with dmg builds aimed at a performance at 4-5k are twice as threating than this max range build.

people should move to the beacon to cap and uncap.

and aura damage weapons would also be easier to implement if they would not interrupt general gameplay mechanics.

the pulsar, jerri torps, or any other direct aura are fine like that.

 

flying around the beacon with a ceptor and kissing all ships close with your primary gun with short bursts - that should be the most viable option for beacon denial.

I wish devs give beacons constant energy converter effect. You will take damage if you hit the beacon with any attack, and will interrupt your capture, how’s that for a change  ![:007_3:](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/007_3.png “:007_3:”)#Stopbullybeacon

honestly there are so many missions in this game that only get played by the same team at reset time its not funny … you want to remove even more from the game ? what would we all do if EVERY match was like  rank 15 defiler ???  … oh yea  we would go to another game that gave us a fighting chance to win matches

Next issue is that I can kill Tharga with my gunship, but destroyer - no chance.

On my gunship now I can easy kill tharga with Ion emitter, it’s not very OP. But destroyers… no chance to even take down shields.

Destroyers aren’t meant to be taken on 1 vs 1. Its not even ideal for another dessie to take on a dessie in most cases. If you want a dessie dead then focus fire and in a lot of cases in won’t even last 10 seconds.

But combination of everything best is hard to take down even with team, it takes minimum 30sec to kill destroyer if it’s federation and you have good big team.

I don’t see the big deal about destroyers. I don’t really have problems with them, whether I am in mine or I am in a ceptor. I don’t think I have even been killed by a dessie in a ceptor since this last buff on dessie’s and on the flip side I use the auto turret (thermal one) to keep small ships off of me when I’m in my dessie.

 

Once enemy team focus dessie they don’t last long. Tackler slow fed renders it pretty much useless.

But this big pile of scrap dealing big damage, is it supposed to be durable or deal damage? As I said before it’s hybrid of all classes without weaknesses.

Conflict perfectly said it, don’t try to 1v1 a dessy without support. Since i’m flying 99% of the time in dessy i’m getting focused really hard in pvp so i’m happy to see that ppl finally learn how to take out a dessy. Yes, thx to G’Thar’Du close combat in dessies is pretty much out of the question which means 3 cpu on Fed. O.o  2 cpu if you wanna be blind

Attacking destroyers in team is very good idea! Especially in league, when all your opponents flying destroyers at one moment and you have standard ships team. Just come close to get spammed by gthardu and photon emitter…
