Just noticed that in PVE I was getting debuff assists on a guard that had no debuff modules fitted. Combat log attached, no debuff to be found in there either.
I guess you didn’t use Signature Masking.

It’s the pulsar, sometime, if the ennemy is killed at the exact same moment of a “Pulsation” but the pulsar did not deal dammage, it’s count as an debuff assist.
Pulsar counts as debuff (“Thermal DoT” on old combat scroll). Should be changed, as plasma web counting as normal damage assist.
Actually you guys nailed it. Probably down to server lag, the pulsar got applied but did not deal damage for nearly a full second:

Ya, noticed this too. When i have been using Pulsar all my team is getting the debuff points now.

Nope, it wasn’t canceled, it simply didn’t “tick” for one second. So if the target dies during that time after you press the button until finally the server catches up and deals the damage you get a debuff assist.
if you get hit by a fighter and it dies you get 5 assist points.
