Critical Bug in Dreadnoughts

A few minutes ago today when we fought against DNO in the dreadnought battles, our NASA wing encountered a critical bug in this game. A rather strange series of events happened as we were playing the game, which culminated in the game server being unable to determine who was the winner of the dreadnought battle.

I will first start with the strange events that occured in the match:

The server chosen for us for this battle was a US server, even though DNO is a Russian wing and I set my server region to Europe (as I was wing leader).

During the match, _all of the players _in the match experienced severe lag and packet loss, for several minutes at a time. Both the NASA and DNO wings could not fight for a few minutes, as all of us were experiencing lag spikes and severe packet loss.

This is virtually impossible to occur to me and thecritz under normal conditions, because we are both US players with an average ping of <50ms. However, _something _happened that caused all of us to experience this lag.

After the game, the matchmaker was unable to determine the winner of the sector. I have provided screenshots of this strange event to let you determine the nature of this bug.

We decisively won the game (and our logs and screenshots indicate as much), however the server could not determine who was the winner. As such, the sector turned NEUTRAL. This should not have happened. We should have become the new owners of the sector, but I hypothesize that the strange lag spikes have played a factor resulting in this result.

First of all, I would like to request the sector ownership be changed to The NASA. We won the battle, yet we were denied ownership. Second of all, I would like to request an investigation into this issue, seeing as this is affecting all players on the server in addition to the persistent game world.

Thank you for your time. Let me know if there is anything else that is needed from me, or my wingmates.

Attached are the screenshots and logs from me and Catbox of this critical bug.

Also I cannot upload log files for some reason using this forum’s uploader. Is there an alternate place to where I can upload mine and Catbox’s files?

EDIT: Solved it! Uploaded the combat logs to Google Drive. Thanks, Kostyan

we had same lag issue today also , my heavy blaster was shooting like gauss cannon :stuck_out_tongue:

SenC did you guys also connect to a US server, or was it EU?

 EU

I see the sector you’re talking about.

if it’s not resolved soon, NASA will need to fight over it again.

Hey Skula, don’t we get a refund or anything? I want that sweet sweet iridium back.   :006j:

I sure hope that’s the code we input to change all sector ownership to The NASA >:D

Too bad it’s the issue code in their bugtracker or something like that.

An old issue but directly related to this situation too.

Lots of corps taking advantage of ‘neutral’ sector.

Then we have the no shows, clearly a deliberate attempt to deny sector control, attack wings, a game.

I have said previously that a blanket of punishment would not do in this case as there could be any number of reason for a corp to not show for a battle but this continued deliberate attempt to deny games is killing the end game content.

Fake corps, corps that never attack. I have done a complete U-turn on my opinion before that they should not be punished. Have there dreadnaught be severly damaged by the continued charging an deactivation of thier interspacial warp accelerator. Have all thier pilots ships nerfed in pvp/pve battles. Some form of incentive to stop these people killing the game mode.

Also still our sector.

Also still our sector.

These guys shouldn’t even be fighting here in the first place. This is outrageous.

The sector belongs to us. We won it. We were ingame for over 2h for this.

better hurry up now, I hear a mob forming…

I didn’t know you could read minds…

I actually did intend to attack it but after seeing DNO attack and not being willing to try dreadnoughts vs them being short a player, having bad ping, and not having our best players, i sent an attack against STORM who did not defend against us.

it’s called a glitch mecron, get over it. Consider it a realistic addition to the game. A janitor hit the warp button on your dreadnought abandoning the sector. mkay?

We should rush the servers and take them over, armed with rakes and pitchforks!!!

Are you seriously this stupid? The reason why there is a bug report section is so that we report bugs like this, so that the devs can iron out the kinks in this game. It’s not that hard to wrap your little mind around.

Soooo in other words you’re a total wuss.

Then I’d say that was some terrible sarcasm.

I’m done with this conversation.
