Crashing the majority of times I leave the hangar

1. Description of the problem, what happened.

Almost every time I leave the hangar (go into battle, or undock) the game crashes. The majority of cases are when undocking from Orbital station ‘New Eden’ or jumping between any two Federation sectors, but it happens everywhere else too. After each crash, it takes 1 or 2 failed startups before it becomes stable enough to let me log in.

2. What did you expected to happen.

I expected for it to not crash every few minutes.

  1. The conditions during the situation.

Usually docked to Orbital station ‘New Eden’ or ‘Ellydium Theta’ station, can occur when going into Open Space game mode, PvP, PvE, and Special Operations.

4. Further details on the issue.

  • Hasn’t happened until I updated to 1.5

  • I’m not the only one having this issue

  • Happens more often in a group

5. Frequency of occurrence.

Crashes occur in sets with a crash every minute/few minutes with 1-2 hours between sets.

6. Logs + [screenshots](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/18799-how-to-takepost-screenshots/) or a video (Including a description of the issue, where to and how to reproduce it)   Screenshot needs to be done with ingame tools! Don’t change screenshot’s original name!

[crashreports.zip](< base_url >/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=15838)

[Exceptions.zip](< base_url >/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=15839)

no screenshots or video, all videos were corrupted when client crashed.

  1. If possible, the time when it happend. In this case we will be able to look more closely to the server logs. Also mention your time zone.

in names of crash reports within crashreports.zip, Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5).

8. Information on the configuration of your computer (DxDiag)

[DxDiag 12-24-17.zip](< base_url >/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=15841)

  1. The results of this [program](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/25324-info-connection-losses-high-ping-and-related-issues/) if the bug report is related to connection issues.

N/A bug is client-side not server side.

10. If the complaint is related to Sector Conquest, it is necessary to specify the location and time + timezone of the happening.

N/A

I’m fortunate to have enough credits to pay for this, but this constant crashing has cost me millions in repairs, and I can’t get any credits out of what I’m doing if I’m not there. This is happening to other players I know, and unfortunately they don’t have the credits stashed to keep up with the repair rates of having their ship “destroyed” when they crash, especially not in higher rank ranges and on destroyers.

That’s a lot of crashes in your DxDiag. Also every game.log ends with out of system memory error, even when some are still free. I would increase the size of the page file to at least amount of RAM installed (yes, I know it sounds stupid) and check it again.

To me it sounds more like not having enough VRam (both is kinda ridiculous since PapyMacBites has 32GB Ram and 8GB VRam).

It is probably some GPU driver <-> game issue, I think I only heard of this problem from Win 10 Nvidia users (but don’t count me on that)

Yes it is possible. However - he has multiple crashes listed in his DxDiag. I just read the header once again - page file is set to 32GB as well, so he is fine there.

Also I have EVGA and ASUS 1070 installed on my machine with Win 10 Pro 64 bit and never had such issue (running out of 4GB Virtual for process - yes). Heck, if hardware is right and the driver is stable I would suspect that something is eating his VRAM (mining?) - I was able to get similar result when running CUDA neural simulation and tried to play SC at the same time.

I’m running x2 GTX 1070 in SLI at 8008 MHz clock with 1873 boost clock, only one monitor though, and when I’m crashing the only programs I’m using are OBS, Star Conflict, and Discord. Also I just now noticed that I uploaded the wrong dxdiag file, not sure how old that one is, I’ve updated it to the one I did this morning, old one for reference:

Can it be possible that OBS is eating some VRAM? You could try to monitor your VRAM consumption to see if anything is that hungry.

my average consumption (system, not just OBS) over the past week is 50% and peak 67% on card 1, average 6% and peak 8% on card 2

How much can OBS consume anyway? Unless he is running SC with VSync off it makes no sense, I have only one GTX 1060, and I can record while playing, maintaining a solid 75FPS, I almost never have my game crash.

Normally nearly nothing, but one can always assume that there is some kind of bug.

I am using it on an 8-year old potato and my 10 minute videos are 6 GB long, recorded with OBS Studio at steady 60 FPS. It should not be a problem for him at all.

My specs are so old and outdated, yet I can run and record this game just fine while it’s active.

6GB DDR3 RAM 1333 MHz

ATI Radeon RX 460 4 GB

Intel Core i7 870 2,93GHz

It could be Antivirus, mining, spyware, or just unstable driver. Try to record at 60 or 59,97 FPS.
