Confusing Tech Tree

Well… I think that the actual tech tree is a little confusing, I mean, it would be better if there was colors to Attack abilities, Defensive, Passive, modules…

something like (and better than) that:

Good idea;)

i second this

I agree

so far im only see 2 type : Tech Enabler (blue square icon) and Upgrade (pictured Icon)

but yea… eventought im not really have problem with the tech tree (infact, no problem at all ) , should there’s something tell the difference about the Tech Enabler : Weapon , Rocket , Mod , Active Module , Passive Module , and Tuning.

about upgrades, i think there’s must be something that give the difference for upgrade works for ship / universal… or just for specific modules…

how about if someone click any of the upgade icon , aside giving the description on the sidebar… also blinking/highlight other tech icon in tech tree that works with that upgrade?

im sure not everyone have grip about the tech tree and ended just trial and error blindly.

and description of skills is terrible, its not displayed fully

agreed with colors … also a dif color for each type of ship for the upgrades that work only on interceptors/fighters/frigates

and as Gojira said the skill description is kinda terrible … it needs more work … adding info and somekind of scroling description cause some have a description and we cant see it all

i agree or mabye they should add little pictures that way we can get a understanding of what it is

why scrolling? they have enough place for full description

why scrolling? they have enough place for full description

cause i got invited last night and changed the resolution from 1600x1050 to 1200x768 to counter my tiresome  and some skills descriptions are just under the bar and u cant see all theyr description … changed my res to 1600x1050 today after i slept and for example i still cant see “Stabilized Railgun” skill full description … and there could be more … but io dont have time to watch at all skills atm cause i want to play, play, play … after the urge of playing all time passes i’ll be able to look at it longer

As many of you know, or have experienced - You’ve finally unlocked that really cool skill in your tree, only to realize you can’t use it, probably not for another one or two tiers.

I believe the skill trees should be redone and scaled to the tier the equipment will be avalible, because many of the things we put points into are equipment (Carnation system, Falcon system, stasis, etc). However, are unusable, and can be considered a complete waste of research points.

Or just allow such things to be used earlier in game.

that’s why im inspect shop first everytime i tier-up… to check which device are limit of the skill tree…

Totally a good idea!

its a little bit borked but if you’ve seen the skill FOREST of path of exile this is nothing.

Tech-tree is “a bit” daunting for beginners and mostly because it doesn’t really give information about three important factors I would like to know, like a) when the skill/upgrade is usable, b )for what kind of ships the skill is or c) for what purpose the skill is. So far it feels like activating features I can only use in tier 2 or 3 and boy, I’m not even close to that. Trying to find some passive skills seems only good idea to me and even then I’m not sure if it requires buying modules in order to work. So some simplification is needed.

The idea of colours in the first post is good, it could clearly indicate the difference in skills and help players to form their own build easier. Focusing on single tech-tree seems to give some disadvantage so it would be nice to include info about crude “builds” (for example supporter) where most important skills for the build are told.
