Command Vs Engi

Can anyone give me the run down what are the pro’s and con’s of these ships? i pretty much have the general idea but would like to hear opinions of seasoned players. to be specific im actually wondering if i should play styx or prom X.

P.S Would also appreciate tips on how to farm fast credits/synergy. I heard pve but not sure which.

Credit grinding 101: Blackwood.

Synergy grinding 101: Pirate DLC ships.

Both ship roles are very different. Commands provide buffs to resists, weapon dps and mobility, whereas Engineers actually replenish your hp.

I’d say grab the Styx cause that ship is brokenly overpowered.

Hi

Commands:

meant to be buff supporter, i.e. you support your team by increasing their resistance by using coating polarizer and aegis system and dmg or speed increase.

You are very energy oriented to you may add some modules for that.

You can go infight but you are not meant to be the damage dealer

Engi

meant to be the heavy support, i.e. provide hull and shield repair and energie to your team.

You are usually slow and easy to hit, so avoid flying alone and stay close to your team or at least most of it.

Be aware active buff modules have to blink to be active.

Generally speaking PvE is for money. Starting at T3 with T3+ ships you can earn 500k in 6min.

But you need either skilled friends or a good corp for that.

Thanks for this. I like being tanky considering im still a newb in the game ( so i can avoid dying too many times ). so far with my prom-X i can tank fairly well with lots of energy, which one do you consider more tanky? engi or command? also which one does more damage?

And where/what exactly do you guys run to get 500k in 6mins? hell ill be happy if i can even farm half of that in that rate.

If you want tank, the Styx is for you. With a good fit it can be more tanky than a guard.

The problem is that after that you have the Garm which is not that tanky.

Another good thing for engineers is that they are the must ship for pve.

Well PvE is heavily team related.

Get a good team with the correct ships.

Go for buff and share assists.Ok we do have a licence but it works without it too.

Really get a corp - they help a lot

Rank 7-15 Blackwood Shipyard, you earn 500k with a license, @350 without.

The moment you enter the match as a command or as an engie, your top priority changes from “dealing damage” to “staying alive”. As long as your buff modules are active, your very presence will help your allies. Keep an eye on the number on the module icon; it tells you how many allies are in your buff auras.

I have next to no experience with command fighters, so I’ll only talk about engies here. Engies are perfectly capable of being frontline brawlers, though I would suggest that you stay about 2.5k away from a beacon. Blue modules have a range of 2.8k, so that’s good enough to cover your allies. Positrons are an ideal weapon for such a playstyle since you will be sniping from range predominantly.

For PvE… Blackwood should still be the easiest PvE scenario to farm. I like using heavy blasters because they are deadly against slow-moving or stationary targets (nav stations and Punisher). I have gone to the extent of using curved reflectors and pulse discharger to boost my damage even further. It’s pretty fun.

One important factor for PvE is to make sure that you have at least one bloody powerful aura buff. This way, you will be able to grab buff assists easily. Some ships come with module strength bonuses so of your ship has such a bonus, you can rest assured that your buff will stay active (instead of being suppressed under a stronger buff aura).

A lot take about 10 minutes in most random teams where you actually win.

For PvE… Blackwood should still be the easiest PvE scenario to farm.

The new PvE mission, “Secret shipyard raid” is currently the easiest, and low queues.  You get T3 loot with it so if you’re still going to be playing T3 for a while it’s the best option.

Blackwood Shipyard is the easiest and fastest for us.

You can neglect the ads in the last wave if you have enough dps.

Well all meant to be a  good team in a corp - randoms are totally different.
