Clarification of game rules.

Is it against the game rules to park a T5 engineer (with high EM resists & shield regen) next to the biomorph portals (in the base sectors) and farm biomorphs with combat drones (AFK)?

I don’t think so but spoiling newbies’ fun shouldn’t be allowed Imo…

Depends if they are really afk, or just using a passive play style. The latter is allowed, the former is not.

Who cares, if they are not cheating, it’s good. I am sure, that around 90% does it, especially in Ice Belt.

As long as you are still on your keyboard and not switched to another screen, this is not an issue.
If you park your ship in a sector and go watch a movie, it is against the rules.

Thank you for the replies residente, Jason.

I care. That is the question being asked. Speak for yourself. Thanks, I’ll look out for people doing it there.

My question was rhetorical. I understand farming AFK is against the rules - and so it should be.

But I was wandering how much you (the GMs / devs) knew about it going on in ‘invasion’ (especially with synergy being available for kills), and I hope that you’ll take steps to punish people that do it - rather than remove synergy from invasion.

I’ll begin reporting perpetrators.

Merry Xmas.

Firstly I’m not one of them so take it easy ,

secondly you cant prove that they are afk or watching aliens die , player can eat meal while watching his drones kill aliens or watch a movie on another tab how can you define which one?

On PvP it s easy to recognize them they dont move and just shoot sometimes , but on open space well… when you see one, deactivate station protection and kill them , if they shoot back they are not afk , if they die without do anything you can continue farm with pleasure

synergy farm in invasion?

it’s not worth money paid for energy to run PC…

few hours of killing aliens = 1-2 T5 pvp games

Thanks for the replies NASA.

I agree SenC, but if the rules are not being enforced - they are meaningless. How could we prove that someone is AFK farming?

Sure, but why not park your Engineer and go to work. 8-10-12 hours later come back to… unearned profit (synergy, achievements).

I understand that previously pilots were able to gain synergy, credits, achievements, etc from custom PVP matches. Correct me if I’m wrong but this function was removed due to rampant abuse by a large number of pilots.

but unless you create sophisticated bot to pickup all the loot and drop it off at cargo dron and come back, all you get is synergy.

You are correct.

As one of the “farmers” I’ll explain how the biomorph farming works. You cannot be AFK to do this, because:

  1. for the fastest kills you need your attack drones and they get killed (by some pirate or portal drones)

  2. retargetting makes wonders

  3. salvo from coil mortar makes much quicker works of the wave

  4. Star Conflict is crashing after around 3 hours of playing in the same instance, so you need to dock before that (and if not - pay fee for ship and ammo- in my case about 120 thousand credits)

So - technically you can do other things, but in practice you cannot be AFK, or the bios will eat half of your shields, your drones will start to repair it instead of shooting, your attack drones will die and you will be stuck at the same wave till you come back and take action. As for synergy gain: you need to have higher tiered engie to do this. so Naga/T-Rex/Mammoth/Octopus. With Fleet stregth of 199, full DLC boost and premium licence, I was getting 22 points of synergy/biomorph. Octopus needs 2 million to become elite ship. So I would need about 95 thousand of biomorphs killed. If you check the counter - thats how much ALL players killed from the beginning of the Christmas event. Basically Tillowaty is right - 6 hours of Biomorph bashing generates similar amount of synergy as 10 minute PvE and no money (actually you’re losing money on this).

EDIT: ok, you got me - I was reading a book while doing this.

I don’t see anything on that in the rules, specifically section 6 which seems to refer to this kind of thing
